what games would be good (for wii?)

they dont really have to be for the wii, but there needs to be more games that take advantage of the wii's controls other than wildly shaking the remote like a can of soda for a friend.

personally, i liked animal crossing for the gamecube (shit on the DS) and it would be a good game to reinvent for the wii. wii remote controls would be fairly simple for animal crossing but it needs more. a better choice in characters. you can change clothes, so what? i wanted something different than a doll-like boy with horns and a doll-like girl with an pointy hat... and horns. something a bit more customizable. a bigger town would be nicer, i dont mind walking. the biggest thing that the game needs is up to 4 players... simultaneously! alternatively was absolutely useless. another thing: the prices for the housing was somewhat accurate but not the amount you got from selling stuff. apples dont cost 500 ANYTHING!! actually any multiplayer rpg-ish game would be a nice change that i personally havnt seen done well, and animal crossing could be a good place to experiment with

the only reason i ever played a DS was for the advanced wars games. almost all the same with almost all the same story but i loved all 4 that i played. bringing it to console might or might not be good but at least i wouldnt have to look at the very small units i was moving, a console version would allow a tv and easier vision of it if nothing else...

fell free the add any more ideas for games that could be brought back and used to full potential. as fun as halo was, it really cant be changed for the better or brought back

Funny, I think that if they make Assassin's Creed or Orange Box for Wii, it would do real good.

On a side note, I want to see BioShock on the DS. Think of the controls when dealing with hacking!

More darkish and "mature" titles for the Wii.
In a sense, yeh. I would like more titles that appeal to the 'Hardcore' (I hate to use the term, but I can't think of anything else) gamer, like MP3 and SMG. Doesn't have to be violent, but has to have more depth than the shovelware that makes up most of the Wii's librbary.

Seems like the RTS genre could do alright on the Wii.

The general ability to interact with screens by pointing at stuff makes the Wii have a considerable edge over console "Stand next to shiny object" methods. Could do a lot in the horror and RPG genres with that.

As odd as it sounds, I wouldn't mind if the FPS boundary got explored a bit more. The wii-mote is almost better than mouse look on a lot of levels.

Even though most people hated it, I loved Umbrella Chronicles . It was good old fashioned fun and the controls felt exactly how any game with a gun should be. The same thing could be said for Metroid Prime 3 , it was the better game after all. But if they put more "shoot stuff" games with decent controls that would be a good start. Maybe like an updated Star-Fox even, though I would prefer to see a new IP from nintendo. Any adventure game or RTS would be a welcome sight on the Wii.

I pray to God that they make a Wii Orange Box.

Anyway, Wii Sports, Wii Play, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, any Wii FPS

(Please don't call me an idiot but what does RTS stand for again?)

For an FPS, I strongly disagree. Mouse control is more smooth because you have the support of a surface. For the Wii, the controller is usually dangling in the air in some way and so it creates more gittery movement than a mouse does. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that the Wii pointer on the screen often has small "vibrations" as you move it around.

It's still a helluva lot better than a standard analog controller.

Oooo, i dont know mind, i thought Metroid Prime 3 nailed it for the best control scheme in a game.... i might go back and replay that game....

The Metroid series isn't a very good representative of an FPS control scheme.

yeah but once you learn how to use the dual analouge sticks to your advantage you can actually be quite good, takes a little longer but on a plus side requires a slight thought aspect

Metroid Prime 3 is a very good representation of how good console fps control schemes can be. MP3 isn't an fps, but its controls are applicable to one. MoH:Heroes 2 had even better controls but was a pretty mediocre effort on the game-play side of things.

I really want a beat-em-up on the Wii. The Godfather had very cool hand to hand combat and gun-play (and the driving was good too) but ultimately, the guns are far more useful. I'd love to see an update of Double Dragon, Battle Toads, or, I dare say it, River City Ransom on the Wii--or something new altogether in the same vein.

As far as games that are actually coming out-- Boom Blox and de Blob look pretty cool as well as WiiWare like Lost Winds and World of Goo.

If they're making another Pikmin game, I hope Nintendo doesn't dumb the game down just for the Wii--IR is a given for the RTS aspects of the game.

I would also love Orange Box: Wii and there's no reason why it can't be done and it would play better than the other console counterparts....

FPS
RTS
P+C

I'm still holding out for Pikmin 3 on Wii, I think that'd be great.

I'd like to see some more adventure games on the Wii. Zack and Wiki along with Sam and Max (what's with video game duos lately?) are a good start, but we definitely need more than that. I'm all for dragging Tim Schafer away screaming once he's finished with Brutal Legend and forcing him to return to the adventure genre.

Which reminds me of one of my favorite quotes ever (hey, it's related since unless Double Fine gets some omnipotent benefactor, I don't think they're going to touch anything that resembles a traditional adventure game) It's from the Double Fine site, conviently located in their FAQ, as well as simplistic information of Brutal Legend .

Are adventure games dead? If yes, then what killed adventure games?

Both SSBB and No More Heroes are wonderful, must haves that I can attest to personally.

New Metroid and Twilight Princess, Ive taken from reliable sources, are 2 more, and more tentative approval for Ikaruga.

Mario Kart Wii and Galaxy would be good choices because honestly, could they be bad?

Also, messing around with the Virtual Console is a good idea, because gamers are notoriously nostalgic. I have played a lot of Sonic 3 myself.

I agree about some more mature titles, but i would also love to see some revisits of some games. A new pilot Wings game or a new Pokemon Snap.

It would also be cool if they could have Perfect Dark for N64 on the VC with online multiplayer. I know it would never happen, but dam would that be amazing

yea another pikmin could hold really well.

dark/mature games could almost be scarier and... effective... with the wii remote. if they make a dark FPS with really sensitive controls it would make it harder to aim of course and scarier because of it. i mean irl, if your trying to aim at something that scared the shit out of you its a lot harder than when you are calm.

i liked TP and am still a somewhat fan of zelda games on consoles. another wouldnt really hurt. also, as much as im against games made from books and movies, a game on Flatland might interesting, wii or not

Since no one was nice enough to answer (What I saw at least) RTS = Real Time Strategy

I must say that I'd love to see a Phoenix Wright game for the Wii. Wouldn't matter if it was a remake of one of the DS games to me as I haven't played them.

And I'd love to see some Point and Click adventures =P Monkey Island 5 would pwn so hard especially if they made it similar to how Curse of Monkey Island looked =D
