The " Master of... Series"

Master of Orion 1+2, and Master of Magic

All strategy games that my friends and me still play regularly, even today, although all where made before 1995.

And no, there never was a "Master of Orion 3" !

Destroy all humans! But only the first one, the second was crap with good advertising. But the original DAH, so brilliant and about as B-Movie as you could get without being remade into an actual B-Movie. In fact it actually has adverts for B-Movies on the back of the manual!

Freedom Fighters anyone?
I'll second this. I also think Contents Under Pressure and O.R.B., though I think I'm one of few who knows of O.R.B.
I'll third on Freedom Fighters, it was a good if forgotten game. Not sure if this meets the requirements for a cult classic, but Star Wars Republic Commando was also a damn fine game overlooked by most people and abandoned by its developers.

I'd have to say Ico for the PS2. Great game almost no one (at least no one I know) knew about or even played.

I'm always surprised by the number of people who don't know about the Guilty Gear series...

Other than that, maybe Shadow Hearts 2? I loved that game.

Colony Wars on PS1 was really cool to me, I liked it that the game progressed even in you lost a battle.

Heavy Gear on PC was fricking awesome too, I played the shit out of that game when I was like 13.

And as I say any time in threads like this Killing Time on 3D0 it is still in my mind as one of the best FPS of the Doom era.

I forgot about Republic Commando, that game was a load of fun. Damnit I wish they'd have made a sequel for it.

I would second Original Wars, godawful box art, bargain bin pick, great game.

All the SSI 5 star general series, Panzer General etc

Microprose with Civ, Railroad Tycoon and Silent Service 2

The forgotten realms AD&D games Pool of Radiance etc

If it hasn't been said already (I can't be asked to filter through 5 pages), Monster Hunter and all of the sequels. Honestly, I've met people who play these things CONSTANTLY. I like them, but I don't think they're better than sex, which some people seem to think.
