Right so I have some extra money in my game budget, a fair few bucks, and I was pondering what I should buy, but I wasn't completely sure, so I thought I would turn to the community. There are a few and I mean A FEW conditions I would like you to abide by if possible.

1. PC Only I am afraid.

2. Not a game before 2003.

3. Nothing that isn't out yet. I already have anything I want pre-ordered

4. No WoW or Halo or Sims.

5. Nothing that requires a subscription service.

I know that is a fair few but I would really like what you might think I would like I know you don't know what I own but I will say the following:

I own all Bioware games.

I am a VALVe Fan Boy.

and I own Bethesda games.

So with all that what would you recommend?

Age of empires, starcraft and warcraft are all really good fun and last for a good time. (without cheats ;)

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is one of the best horror games I've played in years. It will run you around $20, but if you're looking for something that exhibits genuine fear, you cannot go wrong.

STALKER is also another great bet, Shadow of Chernobyl in particular. It's massive - and when I say massive, I mean massive. It too will run you about $20 but the sheer amount of depth you get with it is remarkable.

Try Company of Heroes. It's a WWII real time strategy with automatic cover systems for soldiers and destructible environments, plus a nice sweet campaign.

You can buy it in stores right now but I don't advise that because it's coming out FREE and ONLINE in a few months, and the online version's currently in Beta.

A lot of people have been hating on it, but the new Medal of Honor is actually quite good. Underwhelming and short campaign aside, the multiplayer features a game-mode called Combat Missions, which are essentially, mini campaign style chapters where you either attack or defend certain points in succession for a set period of time. This mode is where the game really shines and makes it well worth the money.

Well, getting Fallout 3 off the shelf sounds like it would fill all those requirements, but I'm going to have to recommend Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

It sounds like what you may be interested in, and I THINK you said you already own Fallout 3?

Anyways: Yeah, get Minecraft.
It's a great game that you could spend hours playing.

Just remember, the Creepers only want hugs!

CoP isn't a bad buy either. Both games are heavily moddable, and in fact, the experience improves greatly when you decide to mod them

Plus, Pripyat has blowouts. Those are always fun.

Counter-Strike: Source if you don't already have it. Crysis is an absolutely gorgeous game if you care about graphics. And when Vindictus comes out, it should be a lot of fun if the community doesn't kill it.

How about Witcher? A very well done eastern europe RPG with a nice story, using Bioware engine.
