RPGs, definitely. I'm also alright at racing games. I suck at 2D fighting games, excluding BlazBlue. I love BlazBlue.

You know, just thinking about it made me realise that, although there are many genres which I am competent at (RPG, RTS, turn-based strategy, fighting, platforming, rhythm games, FPS) there are none which I can safely say I've mastered. I suppose the closest I can get is rhythm games, but I was never able to beat the last set in Guitar Hero 3 on Expert (could sometimes beat 'One' and 'Number of the Beast' if I tried REALLY hard and was lucky but never got CLOSE to beating 'Raining Blood') and never managed to master 10-steppers in DDR (althought that's largely down to my poor physical fitness). It's actually kind of sad for someone who's been gaming as long as I have.

FPS and some platforms, if i play a fighting/driving game, i suffer from perfectionist syndrome, where i will continue to hit pause/restart until i get it perfect, so i avoid them like the plague.
