Call me game racist, but i don't like JRPGs or sports games. I can't get past the foot wide swords and effeminate men.

*sigh* why must everyone generalize JRPG's with references to FF7...

I personally love most types of games- Especially RPG's and FPS- But I cannot STAND sport games. I'll agree, there are some good ones if you like the genre, such as Forza Motorsport 2, but I personally couldn't get into it. I hear some of the most "destructive" games such as 'Grid' are good, but in all honesty I don't think i'll ever be too big of a sports game fans. Also, though not really counted as a "genre" the excess games on the Wii can be quite annoying- The Wii is spammed with horrible third-party games with little to no innovation that's while nice to Grannys and Kiddys, needs to have a 'few' games to help take the place of a hardcore gamer. An example would be "No more Heroes" which tried to break the chain of pure crap third party games.

Lol. Is there anything more sad than spending money to cheat in a game? I know a website where you can buy monopoly money...

Anyways, I tend not to think of games by genre. If a game strikes my interest or has been widely praised I'll give it a try regardless of what type of game it is... usually.

Sports: If I'm going to be playing basketball, I might as well be playing real basketball.

Racing: Boring. Just boring. (With the notable exception of the Mario Kart Series).

RTS: I would like them if I was good at them. But I'm not.

One really fun movie game was "chronicles of riddick escape from butcher bay", it was a stealth/action fps. It was actually very good imo.

Sports, racing, and fighting games are too monotonous and repetitive for me. It doesn't help that I have no interest in sports, racing, or fighting/sparring.

I appreciate shooters that take steps to introduce interesting new elements while maintaining solid FPS elements, as seen in Bioshock; although the new stuff there wasn't exactly earth-shattering, it did offer a little more variety. The GRAW games did this well too.

I'm also a fan of real-time-combat RPGs in the vein of KotOR and Mass Effect (I refrain from saying WRPGs because I didn't like Morrowind or Oblivion). The combat manages to be tactical without being boring, repetitive, or "grind-y" (take notes, Square). Also, those games (KotOR and ME in particular) introduced me to some of the best characters I have ever found in any video game: HK-47, Jolee Bindo, Visas Marr, Urdnot Wrex, Sovereign, et al. I also found those games to be very will-written.

I like open-world games like GTA, Mercenaries, and Assassin's Creed. I would like them a lot more, however, if the developers would tighten up the controls so they would control like dedicated third-person shooters, sword action games, whatever the case may be, while retaining their massive open worlds. I have a feeling that it won't be long before that's the gameplay standard for video games, so all I have to do is wait.

Edit: Gold spammers? Here? I thought I was done with those idiots when I quit WoW... should I click the report button for old times' sake?

I love turn-based strategy games the most. I especially love the games where you get to make your own maps, write your own dialog, script your own events and basicly create your own version of the game. I like having the time to think about what I want to do next instead of having to hurry before the A.I. kicks my butt like you do in RTS games. They remind me of playing table top games like Risk with my friends in college.

I really really hate puzzle games. Especially the ones that have no story or point to them at all. Puzzle games either bore me to death when they are easy or drive me insane when they are so hard I can't figure out how to beat the puzzle. I don't like any kind of puzzle really. I still haven't beat the dumb Rubiks Cube.

My favorite genre would probably have to be the strategy RPG (FFT, Shining Force, Luminous Arc, ect.)

RPGs is up next (I wont seperate them into W or J as I've played great and terrible from both sides of the pacific) I don't care for turn based much. Games like the 'Tales of' series and the Elder Scrolls always make it into that special atrium in my heart.

I like a decent FPS once in awhile so long as I'm playing with a friend.

I love RTS but not competitively, just comp stomping with some pals.

Don't like racing/sports. Fighters only if I'm in the mood for, which happens only once in a blue moon.

RPGs... I'm indecisive. I can never finish one, which is frustrating, but I like western RPGs more than JRPGs. Liked to play some final fantasy games, but only the ones with job systems. Even then I never got very far.

I liked WoW for a while, but when I found out there was no way to avoid talking to other people and how boring the game actually is (these two realizations happened simultaneously), I stopped cold.

I've recently dropped music simulation, because real music is more fun. Though I don't resent anyone for playing GH or Rock Band.

Whatever Prince of Persia and Zelda are. Pretty sure they're the same genre, and I love it.

Third-Person Shooters, YEEEEAAHH!!!
First-Person Shooters, NOOOOOOOO!!!
I like hiding for cover, playing cautiously in TPSs as opposed to the run-and-gun mindless action of FPSs. (Not bashing on FPSs, that's just how I play and view the two genres. Sorry Halo fans!)
