What sorts of things give you anxiety? Sights, sounds, feelings, creatures, you name it.
You may have seen my thread about what relaxes you. The reason I am asking these questions is because I am working on a game that releases stress and relaxes the mind. Yay for indie games.
Social situations for me mostly. I have never been great at talking to the peoples. I am also not fond of closed spaces either, the concept of not being able to leave really gets to me, especially with large groups of people. So for me the most stressful thing is being in a social situation with a large group of people and I am unable to leave at will.
Wont be much help on this one... I'm prone to anxiety over some real stupid stuff. PTSD and all that.
Small, aggressive, yappy dogs freak me out. They can be small and yappy and I'll assume they're aggressive as well.
Being told lines like "Go away" and "You're not needed" will set me off something fierce. Even if it's not a serious thing. Like I said before, real stupid stuff.
Spiders. Not the big fluffy variety, but the little ones with the see-through spindly legs. And occasionally the small fuzzy aggressive ones.
House centipedes (or similar variety). Appears in a sink or out of a shower head. Runs along walls like a stick of animated hair real quick. Not fun.
The sense of vertigo. Not looking down and seeing the ground sort, but just the sensation of being six feet above the ground on a shaky ladder and not getting a good sense of solid footing.
Being in the dark and fearing someone's in the place, or around the corner, or out there somewhere with malicious intent. The act of not being able to see and not seeing any danger, but feeling it's there is real scary.
spoiler is graphic.
Disembowelment, if done right, will give me anxiety. Not the 'hack people to death with a chainsaw' type that you see in first-person-shooters - the kind people are insensitive to. But the stuff that really plays on the mind and gives nightmares. The random person that you just get to know suddenly coming to an end, looking down helplessly and confused as they realized right then that they are going to die no matter what happens. Then they look at you for help anyway, even when they know deep down that you can't help.
Similarly, a person screaming in agony as they're real messed up and cut badly, then having their head come off with a sudden silence. You know, I should hide this with a spoiler or quote tag so I don't get in trouble.
I hope you're not making a 'freak people out' game. I liked the relaxation game idea better.
Meeting/talking to people in authority (My dad's a really tough guy and I'm always super scared of dealing with him. That feeling sort of translated over the years to just anyone that's an authority figure in my life.)
Filth and messiness (A bit self-explanatory, I guess... I would expect this would be the same for anyone)
Whenever something I use daily runs out (whether it be my shampoo or my Honey Nut Cheerios)
Fear of falling (I don't mind heights, but when there's a danger of me falling I get pretty wound up)
Anxiety, well my anxieties are rather odd and are pretty much based on personal issues so I doubt they would help, but anyway the one that's normal is pretty much filth, everything has to be clean for me to be relaxed.
I didn't find that stuff stupid at all, it all made sense and I appreciate your response.
And no haha, I am not making a "freak people out" game, I am just asking people about anxiety so I can avoid specific fears/"stressers" when I create the relaxation game. Although if I ever do decide to make a horror game, I'll be sure to warn you about it first haha.
Large areas. They don't even have to be outside, just large. Though I do have agoraphobia.
Strangers. I have a near anxiety attack when my landlord comes for the rent. Things like going shopping, or having to go to some government building to fill out forms sends me into a panic. Combined with being in a large place, food shopping is a special hell for me.
The threat of being homeless due to being poor and behind on the rent, mostly due to the whole large area thing and the agoraphobia. I was homeless for about 6 months before we found a place, and it nearly drove me insane. Suicide was contemplated more than once.
Sleeping in view of an uncovered window. I suffer from night terrors that throw me into a panic.

Should you ever get this relaxation game out there and on the market (or downloadable), be sure to send me a note. I'd buy something like that in a heartbeat.
-Swimming/diving in a sea/lake where it's at least more than about 15feet deep (or just don't know how deep and a brief diving check confirms it's deeper than 15feet) with no land or other swimmer within a ~100feet-radius.
I'm a fairly good swimmer though - but since my later childhood just having a very irrational fear of great white sharks doesn't help (even in big lakes or mediterranean sea...very irrational as i stated)
Plus Awareness that even if you are a great swimmer, humans in water are pretty much as helpless as a baby-seal on land adds to that.
I still carry it off well on the outside...even though inside i sometimes came close to panic.
On the other hand: looking out at the sea from bay is very relaxing
An abyss, don't know why. I don't like looking out at something and not seeing the end to it, like holes or great depths. Excluding the sky though, I love the sky. Space would be fine to. But if I had no point of reference, like no planets to see or close stars just the open void of space, I'd be pretty stressed.
I remember this Gmod map that just featured some good mind fuckery puzzles. At one point you're inside a house that feels like it's at least somewhere, but then you open a door and its just a void. A house surrounded by nothingness. That creeped me out a bit.

Absolutely. The idea is that it will most likely be freeware, it would only be sold if I could make it of decent length, quality, and if I owned all of the materials in the game. But I will definitely let you know how it turns out and where you can download it/buy it.
I had a dream the other night that I was stuck in a field full of sheep, but instead of sheep heads they had these gigantic crocodile-like jaws. If I ever meet one of those I will beat the 100m sprint world record.
