Surpassing my previous best in an expert drum song on Rock Band. Be it as a rare 100% or a common gold star performance. This task only gets more rewarding over the years as it becomes more and more difficult to improve over past accomplishments.

Nothing else in gaming comes remotely close...I consider the rest of it to be gaming and do not feel any major sense of accomplishment.

Blojo--oh, no, in games, sorry.

Really well done freeroaming travel in large sandbox games. Being able to move at great speeds across a large map and go treasure/organ hunting makes me all kinds of giddy. That, or feeling like an unstoppable titan, crushing puny mortals beneath my powerful heels. Examples of each that come to mind--Infamous: Festival of Blood's bat-swarm, where you can drop out at a moment's notice to get a good hearty sampling of someone's neck, and Fallout 3, once you have the tesla cannon and stats it uses maxed out--you become Zeus! There's no other word for a hominid form walking about shooting explosive lightning.

[small]Yes, I said titan, and used Zeus, I know he wasn't one, but Kratonian just isn't as powerful a word--yet[/small]

Not in games, while gaming. So yeah, it's valid and I agree ^^

OT: Immersion, freedom, exploration. There's no feeling quite like having the freedom to do whatever the hell you want. This is the reason I love the TES franchise so much and the reason I really like Prototype despite how shit it is outside gameplay (the freedom of movement and combat is incredible and there's something to be said about the ability to throw a car into a helicopter)

Immersing myself in a really good storyline.
Well that and watching NPC's flee in horror because at that point in the game you can be classified as a destroyer of worlds. (I thank Dragon Age Awakening for that one scene, it was awesome)

Where to begin... traversing beautifully-crafted game worlds, filled with brilliant places to explore. Or defeating a formidable adversary after a prolonged fight, combined with kicking ass in general...
The process of gaining infamy for dastardly in-game deeds, becoming so badass that no-one can stop me. It's also awesome to uncover the conspiracies and mysteries of a game.

Man, it was hard not putting Prototype in my post. Freedom there, is like the freedom in few others. In an instant you can have a helicopter, for free. You can have a tank, or ride a car. You can be someone else for a little bit, sneak around, gather everyone together, then eviscerate them all. Such enjoyment is hard to find.

I absolutely ADORE games where there is a FREAKING GOOD SWORD/MELEE WEAPON DUEL-ISH THINGY!... *Looks over at the Devil May Cry games and begins to froth from the mouth.*

Err... Insanity aside... GRAB 'EM, GRAB 'EM! *Notice how I turned just as bad*

In Prototype, I love the fights against Cross, both Pre-mutated and Post-mutated. I had heard so freaking much about Elisabeth Green, that she had a massive amount of life, that she was strong, and that she had an insta-kill move. I had heard it all, except for one thing... She was a huge, almost unmoving mass of flesh, totally destroying the dueling aspects that I was hoping for... I was extremely disappointed, and I killed her extremely easy... on hard... because I raged... *Sulks in a corner, muttering about broken dreams.*

I love fighting against Antlion guardians in Halflife :D ... Okay, I have no more >_>

When the whole "Rock Band" hits rhythm and without even noticing it 5 people hit a zen like trance... the song is over and it is 100% on expert for EVERYONE. Total team high, it is why I heal in MMOs as well. The group success is my success.

Making some kind of crazy game changing decision like blowing up Megaton in Fallout 3 or in Fallout: New Vegas when you meet Yes Man and realize that you don't have to play by any of the various factions' rules.

Doing something ridiculously stupid in a game, and then have it pay off.

Nothing brings quite as much joy to me as playing a shooter where you can customize your class and load out, creating something utterly stupid, and then reeking havoc with it.

Causing total chaos and mayhem and watching the world burn for that. Games like GTA IV where I can don that silly mask and pretend to be a crazed masked idiot. Causing mayhem slaughtering the innocent and shooting police helicopters out of skys. Leaving world around me filled with smoking husks of exploded cars. Games like red faction gorilla where I can destroy entire buildings and homes of innocent with my might hammer.

I have a few, getting a nice streak in an FPS, the main two being Call of Duty and Battlefield. Usually it's the streaks I get quickly, so like 5-10+ kills in rapid succession. Even better though is when I have my Hauppauge HD PVR plugged in and I get it on film in stunning HD quality. Another is unlocking a specific weapon I've been waiting for. That usually happens on Battlefield, but sometimes other games as well. Recently the best example was unlocking the A91 on Battlefield 3. I was kind of disappointed with it and still liked the SCAR a lot better but when I unlocked it I was really excited lol.

In Gran Turismo I always love the race when I have enough credits for a car I've been waiting for. Recently I had gotten enough credits to buy myself a Lamborghini Murcielago Super Veloce and a Ferrari Italia, of course both with all the tune ups and my glorious white paint (I have white paint on all of my cars). Another Gran Turismo one is when I manage to beat a car in a race that should easily out pace and out perform my own. That one feels great for obvious reasons.

Finally just turning in quests in RPGs. When I used to play World of Warcraft I would love getting like 5 quests in the same area, going out and doing them all, and then coming back and turning them in and getting a massive influx of experience and money/items. I do the same thing in Fallout and Elder Scrolls games.

Perfectly executed stealth.

Pretty much any form works. Pulling off a kill on Hitman with a perfect stealth rating, slipping through a room full of guards on Splinter Cell, scoring 800+ points on a kill in Assassin's Creed II's multiplayer.
There's so much of a build up of tension, planning, excitement, luck, and overall atmosphere for so long while you wait for all the pieces to fall into place. When they finally do and you pull off the perfect, silent, kill on your target or snake into the elevator unnoticed; there has never been a more empowered exhale.

Usually followed by a small laugh.
