The og Mario Bros game. I enjoyed pushing buttons to make something happen. Videogames were like the world's greatest elevator buttons.

When my grandmother bought me a Playstation for christmas. At first I was kinda pouty cause it wasn't the N64 I asked for, but then I sat down and played Crash Bandicoot and it blew my mind.

The Intellivision, Burgertime, Tron Deadly Discs.
C64, Caveman Ugg Olympics, Other small games on a real floppy disc (5.25, 256 or 512kb in size).

I feel old now.

Desert Storm. I had just gotten the NES game Captain Skyhawk before the war launched. Somehow it seemed all the more magical to have both a game about flying around and bombing stuff while real people were flying around bombing stuff. This probably also lead to my joining the army 13 years later.

The day my dad brought home a NES and Super Mario Bros.

Mind you I was knee-high to a salamander back then and couldn't get past world 1-3.

I'd say all those days lost going to my friend's house to play on his Super Nintendo. Later on, he bought a Nintendo 64, and after just a few hours of playing it, I wanted one myself.

Playing Lemmings on my Dad's Macintosh as a wee lad. then he brought home the NES with a cartridge that had 30 or so games on it. after that, I got hooked on Sega (sonic is my hero, lol), past that, I got my N64. PC gaming was in and amongst that a little bit but it was a while before i had my own PC, at which point i was playing Command and Conquer, heroes of might and magic, Cannon Fodder, Magic Carpet 2, Myst, Zork Nemesis, Chronomaster then Doom and Duke nukem. Mind you that is just the tip of the iceberg of what i played. a lot of other games i discovered by going to my friends houses. anyway, Gaming struck a pretty strong chord with me, and ive never looked back.

P.S. the ONE game that REALLY made me a gamer was Diablo. thank god for that brilliantly concieved gem.

i had older cousins who played videogames like a drug addiction, and they gave me their super nintendo right at the end of the nintendo 64's life. They gave me a crap-ton of games including Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy III, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario RPG, and many others that I sold hastily and have since re-bought each and everyone of them. But the game that definately started it was Super Mario World. It was the first game I ever played and me and my brother beat it. I must have been 5 at the time
