What got you on the Escapist and why did you stay?

Came for ZP. Gosh, he must've had only two videos on here when I first looked.

I was shown Unskippable by a friend of mine. Then I started moving towards the forums and loved what everyone had to say. I had to be part of it so I signed up.

My friend linked me a ZP video and watched all of them in one night. Decided to join up for the very nice people on the forums

I wanted to enter a contest, and I stayed because I really enjoy the videos and the occasional article. I don't post like a madman like some people around heres, but now and then I put my 2 cents in on something

I became aware of the Escapist because of Zero Puntuation... but honestly the main thing that got my attention were the sheer number of people making Halo Hate Threads. For a long time I just tried to ignore them but I think sometime after I saw a post that condemned Halo as a massive turd in gaming that I decided I couldn't stand idoly by anymore so I signed on and became Vrex.
I stayed however when I realised that the Escapist on a whole was much more intelligent and sophisticated than youtube.

I came on for ZP which I originally saw on G4. I stayed due to a liking of the forums.

I came to the Escapist because it was the only gaming mag that posted intelligent articles on gaming. Heck, the Escapist didn't even do reviews in the beginning.

The level of the articles has remained high and really that's what keeps me coming back. ZP ain't bad either. Although he does need some time out in the Care Bear closet.

I was trying to find the website for the escapist RPG site, because my mate wanted some details on some non-sense (to me) or other about such, he has no net. And I mistyped and got redirected here. I stayed. I'd actually forgotten all about it until now...I never did get that stuff for him...and I don't think I've really heard from him since...hhhmmm...ah well.

The first one i ever saw was the bionic commando one, because when i joined the escapist, that was the newest one of their videos and therefore the first one on the list.
i seriously cried with laughter for at least 10 minutes afterwards, and was quoting the best bits for weeks after.

My friend told me about Zero Punctuation, so I kept watching those and eventually I made my own account and now I love it.

I was part of a small but close NWN community, and one of our own found Unforgotten Realms and shared it with us since ya know, DnD parody. I started coming to watch it, but then I started reading posts and eventually I made my own account so I can post too. I stayed cause of the interestings topics and the generally higher quality of the people compared to other places that have more idiots that people knowing what they are saying. (or atleast more vocal and obvious idiots)

((This was almost a year ago, since I just got a badge for posting in 12 different months and I realized I joined last september and today is Sept 1st))
