630 ? Muhammad leads an army of 10,000 to conquer Mecca. I guess he succeeded...

1922 ? First use of insulin to treat diabetes in a human patient. Nice one, a part of my family suffers from diabetes.

1964 ? Surgeon General of the United States Dr. Luther Terry, M.D., publishes the landmark report Smoking and Health: Report of the Advisory Committee to the Surgeon General of the United States saying that smoking may be hazardous to health, sparking national and worldwide anti-smoking efforts. 24 years later, my dad lights a smoke in celebration of my birthday and 17 years later I do the same thing... stupid, stupid brat.

Ha.

1888 ? Jack the Ripper kills his third and fourth victims, Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes.
1882 ? Thomas Edison's first commercial hydroelectric power plant (later known as Appleton Edison Light Company) begins operation on the Fox River in Appleton, Wisconsin, United States.
1927 ? Babe Ruth becomes the first baseball player to hit 60 home runs in a season.
1399 ? Henry IV is proclaimed King of England.
1791 ? The first performance of The Magic Flute, the last opera by Mozart to make its debut, took place at Freihaus-Theater auf der Wieden in Vienna, Austria.
1947 ? The World Series, featuring the New York Yankees and the Brooklyn Dodgers, is televised for the first time.
1962 ? James Meredith enters the University of Mississippi, defying segregation.
1968 ? The Boeing 747 is rolled out and shown to the public for the first time at the Boeing Everett Factory.

So I have the World Series being televised for the first time, Babe Ruth hitting 60 home runs and Jack The Ripper taking out two tarts. Awesome.

On my birthday, which is June 25th, the following happened:

The Augsburg Confession is presented to the Holy Roman Emperor in 1543, it's one of the most important documents of the Lutheran faith.

1947: The Diary of Anne Frank is published.

1950: The Korean War begins

1993: Kim Campbell becomes the first female Prime Minister in Canada

2009: Michael Jackson dies, all his records hit platinum, and the cult of "Dead musicians immediately become cultural saints regardless of what they actually did" begins.
You forgot the Battle of Little Big Horn (aka - Custer's Last Stand). Assuming you're American, that is. If not, my bad. (It's my birthday, too.)

It's also exactly six months between Christmases, which is pretty cool. I have built in excuses to party and get presents every six months.

The one with the zombie dog that looks like it'd somehow introduce necrobeastiphilia, how do I know this? Because there was a girl dog in the commercial that alerts me that at the end it turns out there are puppies. That's when I'm grossed out and want to draw a big sign that says "Totally fucking creepy" in sharpie on all the movie's posters.

So yes, Frankenweenie

June 6th? Wow. An old friend of mine who I haven't seen in years has the same birthday as you.

Anyway, my last birthday was my 18th, and I got The Super-Speedy Cider-Squeezy 6000 on that day!

I remember also getting some book that had a list of all these events in history that occurred on my birthday is history, but, I can't remember where it got put.

1930, August 7 ? The last confirmed lynching of blacks in the Northern United States occurs in Marion, Indiana. Two men, Thomas Shipp and Abram Smith, are killed.
So basically I ended racism for everyone forever. Yep, that's how I see, no doubt about it.

Lots of invasions and natural disasters, lots of people seem to have died en mass on my birthday, joy.

Also this one caught my eye.
"1970 ? The Oregon Highway Division attempts to destroy a rotting beached Sperm whale with explosives, leading to the now infamous "exploding whale" incident."

Happy Birthday, Me55enger!

On my birthday, March 5th, Joseph Stalin died in 1953, World War II: The "Battle of the Ruhr" began in 1945, and this year two Tibetan women died from self-immolation. And my personal favorite: 1770, the Boston Massacre.

Oh, Oh! And 'King Kong' was first televised on that day in 1956.
