man, naughty dog is probably the most progressive of all the game developers i know. from simple, story-free 3d platforming to dark and engrossing dystopian 3-d platformer, to epic globe-trotting explosive adventuring, they're just so good! i'm sure if they continued crash like insomniac continued ratchet, they could have made something wonderful.Necromancer1991 said:

Better question...what the hell happened to Jak and Daxter!? Just when you think Jak 3 ends the series, they come out with Jak X, AND BOTH OF THOSE WERE LEFT OPEN TO A SEQUEL!!! If that's not a tease, I dunno what is. And now, if I do ever hear any mention of the series, it's almost like a footnote. Otherwise, it might as well have never existed...

There's plenty of room for light-hearted fare, but the big problem is they have to be good. If they're not good, adults (except for the most nostalgia driven ones) aren't going to bother with them and kids will only play them if they're good (you can't cruise on nostalgia when your target demographic has no notion of nostalgia). Mario continues to do well because he's usually attached to a good game (and when you consider how often they stick Mario's name on any game from any genre, that's saying a lot). The Lego series of games have been of consistently good quality. The Pokemon games are supposed to also be quite good... if that's the sort of thing you like.XinfiniteX said:

You see, Crash retired to a tropical island with Spyro and Gex and they all live the good life. Mario's still going strong, but he visits once in a while to help stock up their alcohol supply and give them the latest DvD releases. Solid Snake recently moved in next door, and often catches up with them on weekends for a drink and to reminisce about "The good old days"..And then all of them go and mock Sonic for his failures every First Sunday of the Month.
A series of good but overrated third person shooter games called Uncharted. Sony makes way too much money off those, why would they have Naughty Dog make a new Jak and Daxter game when they could just have them pump out another Uncharted?Corialos said:
