I went to my Highschool prom last year and it was quite the fun time, there were people who were dancing and people who were grinding. This year I went to the prom same highschool, there was only like one person other than me dancing. All 50-60 others were all grinding in a giant mosh. What happened to dancing, I find it much funner when you get to dance and not grind since you get to express yourself more and grinding is kinda sexual for highschool especially in a giant mosh pit.

Grinding: Also Known As Dirty Dancing. When a girl is rubbing her a** all over a guys dick.
(I censored just in case)

Don't self censor, man, let the despots do it for you.

And here you won't get censored anyways unless you call someone an ass, then it might make enough people butthurt report you and on probation you go.

Just sayin' "Grinding is rubbing your fuckin' ass over someone's dick" is okay.

More on topic, I neither really dance nor go to parties where such is required. I generally try to avoid large events. Although I know the generic slow dance... and can moonwalk and badly copy Napoleon Dynamite... But that's nothing to write home about =/

Highschool dances are grinds.

when you move out, there are actual clubs with some actual dancing going on to an extent.

I agree -_-

Mine was in '08 and still, there was NO dancing... We were kinda disappointed because the DJ only played rap and dirty dancing music =[

When I went to my senior prom, they played one song that anyone could actually "dance" to. It was "Sugar, We're Going Down" by Fall Out Boy.

A few of my friends and I got to the middle of the floor and began to HXC.

I know its not really the right music for hardcore dancing, but hey, it was the best part about prom that year.

Everyone knows dancing leads to sex. Grinding clearly does not. And since everyone in high school hates sex, you get grinding.

hm, at my prom there was dancing, and dancing is still popular everywhere else, y'know... lol

Maybe school kids are too emo to dance now.

Last concert I went to last month everyone danced, go clubbing and you'll find a lot of people dancing too.

So...you're complaining that all girls want to do at dances is grind against you with their ass?

This seems...highly illogical, but I can understand where you are coming from. I enjoy dancing, and at most dances there is mostly freaking, but there is a lot of dancing also at my school. Mainly dance pits, but we are an art magnets school, so we have an exceptionally high amount of really good dancers.

Ya i know its kind of skewed logic, but I don't only like girls for that kind crap. I want to see there face and not force them into something kinda awkward at times.

Yeah, I feel ya, man. But that's highschool, and that mentality I s'pose, nowadays. It was kinda like that the both times I went to my HS prom and I just couldn't repress a facepalm. But I still had fun, even though I did make my own stuff up.

Yeah...seems dirty dancing has swiftly replaced the old ways of dancing unless you go to a really specialized club or event which warrants other forms of dance.
Maybe it's a kind of 'no child left behind' deal, where we grind so the people who can't dance don't feel left out. Grinding is fun if every one is on the same page.

I'm not talking out a hole in my arse here I teach dance go clubbing a lot and went to my high school ball basically the music should "tell" you what you need to do and no matter if you are dancing with someone connect with them and dance the song together ... if you want to express yourself dance alone or take turns showing off. personally I think the older styles of classic dance like Latin and ballroom are making a comeback if in new forms to suit today's music in a big way, just Google west coast swing if you want to see what I mean.
