I have a TimeSplitters addict for a friend, and he assures me that there is a TimeSplitters 4 in the works.

I remember when I would go to blockbuster with my family (we only had a ps2 back then) and I would constantly look at time splitters 1 and 2 and now that i just found out that a 3rd one has been made it kinda hurts and a 4th one comin out does the final blow. If it's been on the gaming news (T.S.3) then sry for sounding like a noob but i came down with a disease at the time, it's when you ignore everything and spend hours wasting your life. It's called W.O.W. (don't wanna offend anyone who DOES have the disease though.)

The only Timesplitters games I ever played was Timesplitters two, which dripped with pure molten awesome. I never played TS3, but I heard it was bad. And Haze was RUBBISH. I really hope Free Radical gets their stuff straight, if they're hoping to tackle Timesplitters again.

I think the fact that EA published TimeSplitters 3 might have contributed to it not being as great as the second game, seemed dumbed down a fair bit to me. Let's just hope TS4 is still be a respectable installment, or maybe it can even live up to number two?

Indeed EA did do their best to ruin the series.
They 'requested' a few add ins like the permanent crosshairs and that cortana-a-like voice in your head (what was her name? A-something or other). I preferred 2 where it just left you to figure it out.
Seen the TS4 trailer, pure awesome. Hopefully TS4 will be finished when FR says it's finished, not when EA get impatient...

ps.
If you go on Free Radical's website they give away the soundtrack to their old games for free.

Maybe they were trying to lower our standards with haze and T.S.3? So they could prepare us for the kinda-great game of T.S.4?

Why do I see another thread for this but locked?
Because the OP accidentally (I hope) posted it twice. So I locked one of them.
Thats gotta be it, otherwise they would of locked n' banned his *** a while ago.

Releasing Haze before Timesplitters 4 is one of the biggest mistakes FR could make - people's faith in them will be at a low.

Can't wait for TS4 nonetheless :)
or it's probably a blessing in disguise - everyone won't expect it to be good, it comes out, it's awesome, and they've redeemed themselves.

Timesplitters 2 was pretty much perfect as far as fast-paced arcade style gaming goes. Even Anaconda (the mini game on your radar in story mode) still wipes the floor with most games that are released these days in terms of simple fun. I played a bit of the Chicago level in a shop, having never heard of the game before, and it ended up being one of the main reasons I got a PS2. I've played some of the first one and it seems similarly awesome. Timeplitters 3, however, was considerably less good. I think the main reason for this was that it tried too hard to have a deep story for the game as a whole, as opposed to just providing an excuse to blast goons on each level and letting you get on with it. So I hope they make a fourth one if it goes back to the style of TS1 & 2, but if it's another Future Perfect then I probably won't be buying it.

Why do people hate TS:FP? I thought it took all the good things in TS2 and improved on them, the graphics, the humour, the characters, the controls, the multi-player. It pretty much thumped its ass. Maybe you all just had your hopes too high.

I don't know about what other people thought of TS:FP, but I liked it. I don't own it, but my TimeSplitters maniac of a friend showed it to me and I thought it was brilliant.

everyone hated ts:fp because it was dumbed down to an insane degree. i completed it on hardest easily, the fun of timesplitters two was the humour, the multiplayer, the grahics, the controls, the characters and obviously the complex and rewarding storyline. But it was also the insane difficulty of the arcade and the missions which required reflexes of a god and an almost zen-like ability to concentrate on killing those damn monkeys. timeplitters 2 was the last hurrah of the old school actually hard games.

TS2 was a lot harder and bordered on frustrating, but that's about it. It handled no where near as well as TS:FP, which only added to the difficulty.

Ninja Gaiden carries on the proud tradition of insanely hard arcade-style games. I haven't played the new one to know if they've dumbed that down.
