What happens to a soul when its eaten?

so im watching my little brother and his friend play yugioh while i wait for my friends to come pick me up to go to donkey-punchers (dave and busters) and my brother pulls out this card with a monkey on it that says its a soul devourer. and it got me thinking, what happens to a soul thats eaten? does it completely obliterate? does it just stay inside said devourer's stomach? does it become free when the devourer farts? your thoughts?

Well, after it's eaten, it gets chewed up, digested and shit out as a soul turd. If we're looking at fantasy genres in which souls get eated, then I've always viewed it as the source of a person's emotion and drive. When removed, its like pure energy, which when eaten, becomes like generic magical energy, with the side effect of the wielder being a jerk.
Also, being pure energy means it has no by-products when consumed.
