What happens when you die?

The game over screen pops up, along with the grading and how many points you got, as well as ranking compared to other beings who have been in the game of reality. You are then released from the VR training room and are deemed fit to re-enter -insert alien race name here- Society. Thats right, earth as we know it is just one big virtual prison!


If you die in that world though...well i dunno, chances are your dead for good.

Well I know this is bullshit but I'm just thinking.
Energy can't be destroyed can it? So energy would have to go to a different place when we die.
Also I've heard somewhere that we lose some weight when we die.

But personally I believe that we reincarnate until we achieve enlightment.

70 years? i thought medical science took us further than that. And yeah that's what i believe anyway, i don't believe in reincarnations or heavens and hells.

Average life span at the moment is 75 i believe with women having a slightly higher average life span. Your odds of living to 3 digits are not very high atall, in the united states only 1 in 3300 people live to see 100.

On topic, As a christian i personally believe in heaven and hell. Although i'd need to heavily explain both as the sterotypes are miles off. I bet if you ask random people to describe what heaven will be like to you they wont even mention God when he's the whole point of the place.

Consciousness is the state of awareness. It isn't separate from you in any way, and it doesn't have a will of its own. It is who you are. If you're dead, you're no longer conscious. That should answer both your questions.

Is there really heaven or hell?

I don't know.

How could so many people fit in there?

Out of all the things that don't make sense about the concept of heaven and hell, this is probably the last. Our very universe is big enough to include every single creature that died, multiplied by an absurdly large number, or possibly even by infinity. Since heaven and hell are usually depicted as superior planes of existence to ours even, I would imagine that size isn't an issue.

Does our consience run around on spectator mode?

Your life has been an inevitable possibility. You live life because not living it would mean nothing, the fact that you're looking at your life/death through your own eyes does you no favor if you're an atheist because ultimately it does not, will not, matter AFTER death. Ironically this depresses people, its best to just look at your life through your own life's frame and not worry about what's next. As for it being 70 miserable years, I don't think you're doing it right, don't get me wrong I've been depressed, probably more than I've been happy, but its the fulfillment and happiness that you should count and strive towards not sit in a corner tallying up the rest of the time.

I will never understand why people are so obsessed with rebirth, reincarnation, heaven and hell, the underworld, the afterlife, judgement day, etc. etc.

I often doubt people truly believe these things; they're just so scared that they have no real "purpose" (non-biologically speaking) that they feel the need to believe in such fairy-tales for fear they might go insane.
