Title.

However when I say family, I am not talking only about brothers or sisters. I'm talking any other family member with whom you have played or play hardcore games.

For example, me and my mum play Heroes 3 versus and I find it quite surprising since any other game I tried to show her she didn't like.

I tried playing Horde on Gears 2 with my mum. She shot at the fucking walls and we eventually gave up.

The last time I played video games with my parents, controllers only had a d-pad with an A and a B button. I think if I tried to get my parents to play anything released in the past 20 years, they would button mash, then end up quitting and commenting on how violent games are these days.

At least you'd be able to get them to try?

Culdcept is about as cut-throat as we've been able to play together. There isn't much in the way of multi-player for a lot of the more violent titles.

My mom won't. No point going down that road. My dad might, but there is two very large problems. First, he doesn't trust I know how to hook it up to his TV. Not sure why, but he flips any time I mention it. Secondly, he hates losing. That's why he stopped playing games in the first place. I could get further than him in Mario when I was 6.

Maybe when I get my own big screen and a decent co-op game. We'll see.

I got my game hating cousin into Call of Duty 4. Now every time he comes down to visit he's always asking for a game.

I tried Halo 1 with my mum once...She wasn't too bad...I mean, for an adult, anyway, she could fire and walk at the same time and most adults I know can't do more then a single function.

'Course, every parent loves the Wii, which is the death of hardcore gaming, so that's great. (Fucking casual stuff...)

I used to play sports games with my dad back on the Sega Genesis. He got very irate when he lost though so I pretty much stopped playing games with him.

I play some co-op FPS games with my sister.

...Galaga? Downloaded it for my mom, as apparently she used to skip school to go play it. First few rounds, she kicked my ass, now I win.

Dad on the other hand, me and him have some serious Wii Golf matches when I go home

Do you count NHL-games as hardcore? Me and my brother used to play those a lot back in the 90's, first on SNES, then on PC (NHL 98, I think).

The latest game I have really played with my brother was Mario Kart Duoble Dash. Last Christmas, we would complete all the circuits in co-op.

I remember playing Duck Hunt on the 1st Nintendo with my dad. It really wasn't fair because I was 5 or 6 and he was a police officer, so the point and click with the zapper gun came natural to him. Stupid dog, I'll get you one of these days.
