A conversion of my political/religious views and a fine-tuned appreciation of satire/sarcasm.

It also has Daystar, who introduced me to Game Grumps which I am eternally grateful to him for :D

It gave me a play to talk to other mature gamers and meet cool people as well. Also new videos, news I can comment and talk about and a great podcast.

An appreciation of anal sex
It's given me endless hours of fun since 2008 between the awesome video series and the highly sarcastic forum goers. This place has been making me laugh more than anything in my personal life!

I also havea couple awesome people to talk to about things and stuff (I'm looking at you Eclipse Dragon, Imp Emissary, Lone Wanderer and Rose And Thorn!)! I enjoy talking about, ya know, things and stuff.

Aside from an unhealthy case of misanthropy from so many relationship-related threads?

Plenty of laughs, and it's a relatively decent way of keeping up with gaming-related news. Dunno what drew me here, but it's irrelevant.

A t-shirt. Seriously [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.387633-You-are-now-an-Escapist-Moderator?page=3#15495508].

This site is also the first place I heard about Streetlight Manifesto, who I now pretty much hum in my head constantly.

A lot.

Back in September 2010 Greg Tito posted a news story about an chiptune remix of Cee Lo Green's Fuck You. It's a long story, so basically, after a long series of luck and coincidences I ended up learning what I want to do with my life, pulled myself out of depression, and now have a relatively steady career path and much more (see: more than zero) confidence.

Well, This site has given me hours and hours of entertainment, movie and game reviews, comics, interesting articles, and on the rare occasions where I do post, almost always a very interesting discussion.

As of late, even some fantastic puns thanks to a certain poster who is always on the first page of any news thread that is pun-worthy. You know who he is. Gotta love em.

Also, someone first told me about luca turilli here, and while he isn't my favorite artist (musician to be specific), he is a damn good one.

And also, boobies and kittens. That video has broken the sour mood of people in my life at least 10 times so far, and every few months I find a good reason to show it again.

Thank you escapist, for the hours of entertainment, interesting stuff to look at, and excellent forums from which even more humor, fascination, and deep discussion have risen.

This is my thousandth post, here's to the escapist being as good as it is long enough for me to make a thousand more.

Hours and hours of entertainment, as well as a link to a nice little tax write off thanks to desert bus.

There's also the fact that I was actually able to use the Escapist's release schedule as a way to tell what day of the week it was on deployment, so it allowed me to be less insane.

Giggles a plenty.

And jolly forum conversation!

Plus like Rawne said, the chance to laugh at people on occasion never goes amiss. :p

I love the videos and the articles are generally pretty good as well, I haven't visited the forum as much admitedly(as my post count may reveal) but other than the "hey let's discuss isms throughout 10 chain-linked threads and even though I'll call it discussion my point stands immobile and invincible" guys it actually looks like a nice community.

The No right answer guys, Yahtzee and Jim and others are among my weekly entertainment routine for some time now.

A fun little place with a good webcomic, funny and engaging videos, and an all around good community that doesn't shit itself on a daily basis in the forums. (Except when some touch issues that occasionally pop up, but even then it's easy to ignore it or read through it "for teh lulz") Also there seem to be a fewer amount if any of horribly egocentric posters who do nothing but post. And post. And post.

Entertainment, educated people style!

And such an awesome community that's really nice (most of the time), even though I'm a lurker and don't usually raise my head.

Better typing skills as well as socializing skills. I know I've been here for about four or five years and hardly anyone knows who the hell I am. But honestly, I've gotten better at talking to people in real life and structuring my arguments.

I've also found a whole bunch of good music from people like Aesop Rock, Mumford and Sons, Sage Francis, Born Ruffians, Los Campesinos!, M83, Justice, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Parov Stellar, and... I think that's about it. :p

Fuck yeah! Streetlight Manifesto is the shit! I also recommend Larry and His Flask if you're into pseudo punk rock like Streetlight [small](or at least that's what I would consider them)[/small]. Though Larry and His Flask is more bluegrass/folk/country. Check them out!

This site has given me the greatest gift of all...lots of friends and people to hang out with and a spot to try my first "Let's Play" and....sorry, I can't keep a straight face. The greatest gift of all is obviously this:

WHOOOOOO!!!! I ROCK!!!!

[small]Seriously, I do love spending time here for the above reasons. The 360 sure as hell didn't hurt though :)[/small]

I have given the 'Pist far more than it could ever possibly give me.
Could you people ask for a better leader/god?
Captcha: ShinglesInfo.com
Yes, the Escapist did give me information about shingles.
