OT: Playing Borderlands 2 as the Mechromancer. I've only died due to my own incompetence so far (I'm sure I've felt more drunk with power, but I really can't remember when). Gaige is a beast and so is Deathtrap.

I also chanced upon an old YouTube channel a few days ago, belonging to a man who goes by the name of philhellenes. I remember back when I first found it and was utterly dumbstruck by his descriptions of things I'd once thought terrible and bleak.

Gave up on returning to Nottingham, started looking for jobs within mental health, found out that I'm underqualified for most jobs, but overqualified for basic jobs (It costs care homes money to train anyone with a degree, so they won't take me on. My degree is stopping me from getting work.)

So today I went round my hometown, handed out a lot of CVs at retail places and hoping I get a call back. I might go in tomorrow and do some more.

Back at school. I've got a meeting today about transferring into a different program. Criminology to be specific. Other than that, getting to know my new roommate, raiding the community garden before it frosts, and some Final Fantasy XIV.

I've been preparing for my trip to Europe. I'm flying next Friday. It's the closest thing I've ever had to a business trip - I'm flying free of charge to Spain as a critic to cover the San Sebastián Film Fest, and the Biarritz Film Fest the week after (all expenses included!). A little nervous because I've never traveled alone such a great distance for such a long period of time, but happy with the increasingly expanding array of opportunities, work and otherwise. So it's been 7 days of preparations, celebrations and one-on-one goodbyes, mostly.

I've also been playing some Dead Space.

I mine at the very bottom of the earth! Tunnels upon tunnels, leading through the darkness and fog that seeps through the bedrock.

The usual.

Work, crying over nothing because I'm a fucking mess, vidya gayms, and watching old horror movies like The Thing and The Amazing Melting Man because I've got a free schedule as of Thursday, and I've just made a large purchase on Amazon of comics, cardboard, and lampshades because the end if nigh, I tells ya.

Nothing special this week.

Ye gods, how do you even find your way back through the choking obsidian veil at the dark places of the earth? I'd assume that signposts just wouldn't cut it. Do you use some sort of coloured line or patterned wall design system to know what level you're on and which direction you're going in? o.o

I dug a 20x20 hole in the ground on a small island once, with a tiny, 1-tile-wide staircase that wound down inside the edges to the bedrock. Good gravy, months of potential studying went down the pisser on that one. O__O

Then I lost the save file, thus completing my magnum opus. A truly grand construction, we shall never see its like again.

I make one main tunnel and mine off smaller tunnels from it. Then I block off the smaller tunnels once I'm done using them. It's also how I explore abandoned mineshafts when I find them. (And those huge caves that split off in several ways). That way I know where I've been and don't end up going in circles. :D

Only downside is it takes a lot longer.

Well I've finished school, yet because of my social anxiety I'm not really fit to go looking for work yet, so I have a shit tonne of time on my hands as you can imagine. Most of it is spent playing games, listening to music and, naturally, browsing the web aimlessly. Over the past week I've mostly just been playing Gothic 2: Night of the Raven, one of my favourite games. In between eating, sleeping and the occasional pornography consumption, that's mostly what's been occupying my time. It's a long as fuck game that demands a lot of time and effort to be invested into, so as you can guess, it gets pretty addicting.

On the weekend I'm going to see some bands play at a club with my friend, so that'll shake up this process quite a bit. Well needed, I might add.

I worked a lot, about 49 hours in the past four work days. Not as bad as my worst week of over a 100 hours. I've been recovering from a broken foot and a cold which made things annoying; it's kept me from going out these past couple of weekends. Thankfully, I've got a reputation and a job which allows me a distinct lack of oversight. I spent a lot of my off time reading books and preparing to take exams which would give me college credits without having to pay the money or time to take the course. I'm working towards my associates now, and hope to switch over to a full college or university when I get out of the active military so I can study Naval Architecture.

As for video games, I've been playing through Cave Story again, and I'm playing through Metal Gear Solid in parallel to that.

Mostly just work, nothing too exciting. Went out Saturday night with my mates- Batman themed fancy dress and my Joker costume came together surprisingly well, bit of a messy night though. Spent all of Sunday wondering if I was about to die and had to, quite literally, crawl to the fridge. Oh, I bought Roller Coaster Tycoon and I've been having a massive nostalgia-fest too, it's awesome. Killed many, many people.

Mostly working and College classes. I work at a local PBS station as a video editor and graphic designer. Hours are mostly random for work on a on-call basis. College classes are mostly in the mornings and nights are usually spent gaming or with my gf. I usually have busy weeks unless I get one of those god blessed weeks where I'm only required to work a few hours. If all goes according to plan, I will be able to save enough money after getting my degree and working for about 10 years to never have to work another day in my fucking life again. House is paid off and cars are paid off. I'm not wasting my life being a "benefit to society". Work enough to save enough money to never have to kiss someone's ass ever again.
