The first time I tried my hand at saving a slave in Fallout 3, he gave me the "is it supposed to vibrate like that?!" line, and to my horror his head exploded. It was one of those "I've failed." moments that keeps heroes down.
I LOVE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS!

Mine was letting Meryl die in Metal gear solid, Snake downing himself while holding her dead body made me feel like a failure at life.
Well at least Snake didn't drop to his knees and say as cheesy as possible "Oh, no."
If you're speaking of Re4 the only reason Leon couldn't say,"About fucking time." was the reality of his salary fluttering out the window.
Yeah, I figure. All that ***** did was A. Make the game a bit more annoying and B. Accuse me of looking up her skirt when a bad guy knocked me on the floor near her feet.

Prototype.

killing the general (before the last supreme hunter) all he was doing was trying to save humanity

when i am low on health and have to consume an innocent civilian, sadly ripping a person in half that hasnt tried to hurt me isnt as schadenfreude as i expected.

Killing Zelos was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I mean, sure, he was a perverted bastard and I was exchanging him for Kratos, but... he was MY perverted bastard...

I remember blowing up Megaton in Fallout 3, but I kept having this though going on in the back of my mind that I had forgotten somthing. 10 minutes latter I remembered I had left Jerico in the city. Five minutes after that I remembered I forgot to steal the bobblehead from Lucus Sim's house.

I still miss that bobblehead :(
This guy has it right. I rarely connect with NPC's in a game enough to feel bad about them. So I usually try every option I am given in a game, lots of time saving then trying the quest or playing the option out every way possible.

Having remorse for an action would be like today when my cat was following me again and I accidentally shut him in the door. I felt really bad about that and could not leave until I coaxed him out from under one of the trucks and made sure he was alright, which he was if you all wanted to know.

Greatest part of the game. It was unexpected and it was cruel, and it was evil, and I did it without hesitating, then felt a little bad about it.

I have to say this is one of the few exceptions to what I said above, this game did draw me into it, the characters where awesome and reacted to what you did and did not do.

killing n00bs in eve who are in places where they shouldn't. But then I usually relize that its better that they lost their frigate then later on when they can fly bigger more expensive stuff.

Ditto to destroying Megaton in Fallout 3. I felt bad for the slave in the inn and the weirdly chipper lady who owns the store. I felt even worse when she came running at me in the wasteland, mutated and as happy as ever, talking to me as though nothing had happened.

I think Mass Effect did a good job of making the evil choices not feel evil. Shepard's emotional detachment, combined with the fact that there was something to be gained by either side of every moral choice in the game besides just being a jerk or a nice guy, made me feel alright when I did my evil playthrough.

I've been excessively cruel to this little guy [http://www.addictinggames.com/interactivebuddy.html].

It was after throwing a grenade for him to catch, pelting him with a few baseballs, and hitting him with a mace that I realized he was quivering in absolute terror and running away at the slightest thing I did, friendly or not. I felt unclean for a few days afterward.
I LOVE YOU FOR POSTING THAT it's been so long since I've played, and it was so fun for me when I was a yougnin'

I love that game! I dress him as a teletuby, and use him as my personal therapeutic punching bag.

Oh man I forgot about that game entirely. I still remember burying him in tens of babies and then lighting the entire pile on fire, good times. Never felt bad though because I turned them into Micheal Moore or George Bush.

OT: Probably whenever I go on one of my sprees in fallout 3. Good to see weapons but I could never play a full game doing that. Hell I feel bad every time I do anything Evil in any game, Interactive Buddy excluded of course.

I'm going to go curl up in a ball and weep, now.

After I saw a gameplay video of Fallout 3, when I bought it I immediatly wanted to blow it up. But I got too attached to it and helped Roy take over Tenpenny Tower.

I don't feel bad for doing stuff in games though I came close when I tricked Bumble in fallout 3 into becoming a slave...I made up for it by freeing the child slaves though.

Oh yeah, how could I forget. In KotOR 2 when you can blow up that Mandalorian on Dxun. Really made me feel like an asshole the first time I did it. Especially when one of your companions comments on it.
