*Starts smoking pipe*

Greetings gentleman, and mistresses of gaming, I'd like to ask all of you one thing. Which FPS have you enjoyed the most? Why have you enjoyed it, and why does this game appeal to you?

ME:

I enjoyed Battlefield 3, mainly for the multiplayer mode, not that I have anything against SOLO games, I'm a huge fan of the ELDER SCROLLS series as well as the fallout series but I digress. The online gameplay of Battlefield was amazing, it felt like I MYSELF was in a war, I could fly a plane, helicopter, and have a team to back me up. That reminds me of one more thing, I like that most of Battlefield's gameplay is based on TEAMWORk, now I'm not saying that other games aren't "Team" games but I just don't feel it in other games such as the CoD series but back to the topic, I heavily enjoyed the GRAPHICS, now I know most of you won't be surprised that one chose the game because of it's graphics but admit it, you yourself would go for the game with the best graphics.

That is mostly all I've got to say about my favorite FPS this year, post your ideas, don't try to argue much.

*Places pipe on Table and starts reading paper*

Skyrim. Its the only game I'm playing now other than some occasional League of Legends and TF2. I will however say that I intend to get Resistance 3 cause 2 was good and I want to see how the story finishes.

Edit: Can't believe I have to include that I don't think Skyrim is an FPS. How that is not obvious I don't know.

Modern Warfare 3 was pretty good.
It took everything bad about MW2 (One man army, stopping power, stupid perk lineup), and made the game much more reliant on gunplay. The only problem for me are the mediocre maps and the broken spawn system, and the spawn system is going to be patched at some point so hopefully it will get better.

Payday: The Heist
Does it still count? I think it does and I have played a lot of it and it is very fun and I ca't think of many games like it.

Got to play MW3, BF3, Gears 3, and Halo Anniversary if that counts. Probably enjoyed MW3/Anniversary the most.

Battlefield 3. Certainly an enjoyable experience. Excluding the occasional shitty game, I had tons of fun playing it. I've been busy playing Skyrim, but now that you reminded me of it, I might play some today.

The shitty maps and absolutely broken spawn system ruined MW3 for me. The fact I can't find a single gun I enjoy using doesn't help either.

I can't help but imagine you shouting all those CAPITALISED words. It's pretty COOL. Makes you sound like Al PACINO in Heat.

Anyway, haven't played any of the new releases of shooter season 2011, but I did buy E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy in a steam sale. That's pretty cool. It's all weird, unique and snazzy. Though, with it being an indie game, there is occasionally a feeling of amateurness. Also, most of the dialogue is text only, and the little that is spoken is in french (at least I think it's french, that's where the developers are from. I think.) Still, I'm really enjoying it, and I recommend you buy it if it goes on sale again.

I'm not sure if Skyrim counts as a FPS game. But yes it is very good.
I know lol. Mind you playing my new archer character when I get caught sneaking kind of reminds me on playing the sniper in tf2 (3rd person with the bow).

Bulletstorm takes my vote.
Agreed, Bulletstorm has to be one of the best FPS games I have played in a long time, shooting people is boring, whipping and kicking bad guys into environmental hazards is fun.

I suppose if you class Deus Ex: Human Revolution as a FPS then that would come in second.

Actually, thats all the FPS's I've played this year.

TF2, L4D and L4D2 are pretty much the only FPS games I play anymore. I'd probably play Halo: Reach if it were on PC, though. I love Reach, but I can never go back to playing FPS games with an Xbox controller.

Both EPIC Games creations this year were hella fun (Bulletstorm/Gears). Those are my GOTY votes as well. They both brought something new to the table, and not many games this year could say that they did that.

Skyrim hands down the best experience I've had for First Person action. If you're talking about shooters, it's Gears of War 3. I was fed up with all the BF3/MW3 hype and the Gears series was consistent in terms of Campaign and Multiplayer.

I agree. Though I have to say, I think it's the only actual FPS I've played since Halo: Reach.

That game may have had lots of faults, but it was a damn good time.
