Religion... if there really is a god, why has my life been so shitty... and people... after what has happened through high school, I could care less about people too...
Same, was raised catholic and went to privet school before moving to utah, i cant stand almost any of it now and when people bring it up i have to stop myself from telling them off, also i have given up and jetpacks and flying cars
I was raised catholic too... we gradually stopped going to church... kinda sucks though since I live in the bible belt... but I do find some amusement... all the baptist and other people around here hate catholics, so I still claim that sometimes... especially when the door knock people come around... if you tell them you are catholic here they get pissed...

I lost sight of religion when I was raised Catholic and found it again when I converted to neo-classical polytheism at thirty.

Worked as a corporate wage slave and lost sight of my creativity and ability to write, but rediscovered it when I got fired last August (had two guest reviews published on this very site, in fact), which has done me well since going back to college.

I've lost sight of my beer-commercial-like attitude about manhood, but my wife probably thinks that's a good thing.

Well, I suppose I've lost faith in the idea that everyone is actually really a good person on the inside. Some people are just dicks and need to be punched in the head.

God. I thought he loved me and that if I loved him everything would be alright. Than reality hit...

this only change he to she and him to her.

i lost sight of friendships/social life.

i literally dont know anyone outside online acquaintances.

i dont really mind it tho. i enjoy knowing for a fact im on my own. always. and forever. it makes life easier in my opinion. no drama, no one to bug me for any reason...just me, the 4 walls around me, the computer and a solitary job.

My sanity, for the most part.
I'm pretty sure I left it around here somewhere. If anyone finds it, will you please return it/
Oh is it yours?

I spent half the year changing my mind on whether I should go or not, I eventually chose to but I was at the point where I just wanted to quit college and live alone somewhere.

Confidence. I tend to flip back and forth between painfully shy and nervous to so incredibly loud that it ought to be clear I'm trying to compensate for something. I could fill a dissertation writing about the reasons for that and still not do them justice.

Passion. No, not that kind. I mean the whole thing of finding something/things you really care about deep down and devoting your life to pursuing those things. Never really found it, never really pursued it either because the above tends to lead me to just settling for whatever options come my way out of fear.

Once people leave school, they change. Really change. You can never truely know your school buddies until they're out in the real world.

I've essentially forgotten how to think negatively. I never take pity on my own life, even though I've encountered what many people would call "hardships" (loss of grandmother, uncle and mother in a two year span, for example) because negative thought doesn't get anyone anywhere. I probably sound like the douchebag that's void to all problems, but seriously, I believe that there are many more people out there that have harder lives that yourself. Maybe we should be trying to help those people instead of wallowing in out own self pity.
Sadly it's the total opposite for me.

I was incurably cheerful and optimistic until about a year ago (i'm 28).
But the past decade of reality stamping on my head constantly finally got to me :(

I wish i could get back to being optimistic and cheerful, as it's a really nice state of mind to be in, but i really just don't know how anymore.
