I'm just curious, since I have a bit of free time for the first time in a while, and would like to know what you've all been enjoying (except arguing on internet forums, that's a given).

It doesn't have to be games either. Software, books, sports, anything goes.

I assume you're not after political baggage? Cause well...

Assuming you want something more positive, art. I always liked drawing but never took it seriously until way too late. One of my biggest obstacles is dealing with mistakes when drawing, so I want to get a drawing tablet cause that should help compared to pencil and paper. Though no one responded to my topic asking for help, just a few hours ago I found a youtube video that basically answered all my questions, even ones I didnt know I had, so I intent on getting a tablet and trying to take drawing more seriously, even if its just for personal interest.

I would like to one day make some animations though. No intention of making it big on youtube with it (not that I could if I wanted to), but I have a few ideas Im dying to let loose.

Not much, which is really quite confronting for me. From my teens to my early 30's one of my defining traits was being a passionate person (about a lot of things). Now I'm about to notch up 40 a lot of that has left me and I'm struggling to think of how that happened.

I guess the things I'm passionate about are my kids and writing novels, graphic novels and screenplays. Oh, and the fucked up situation our government has got going on with detaining refugee women and children in Nauru gets my blood boiling.

I'm really passionate about not going to work.

I'm on my second day off and it's been great.

I guess my only real passion would be singing. But sometimes I get sad that I'm not good enough for my own standards. So I don't really pursue it beyond singing at home.

Classical Music of the Militaristic/Sci Fi variety:

Watching movies (mostly old ones) and writing porn. My story is almost done. I've also been playing a lot of Dragon's Dogma.
Does Legend of the Galactic Heroes have music like above?

Legend of the Galactic Heroes has almost no original music. Most of it is classical music, like Beethoven, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, etc. It's majestic.
On a basic level is the franchise the closet thing to a "Sci Fi version of Game of Thrones" and I am referring to the "War of the Five Kings, Political Intregue" part of Game of Thrones.

Because so far from what I have been looking at it matches all the things I want from a "Sci Fi Game of Thonres"

If only there was an English Dub though :(

In games I've been interested in the early 90's. Stuff on DOS, SNES, and Genesis. Just trying to clear some blind spots.

For film, I've become a bit interested in Korean film. Partly because I don't like what it's become, and think what it was (particularly in the 80's), was really beautiful and interesting. Also trying to catch some stuff I haven't seen in the late silent era, and doing some preliminary watches to catch up with the directors that I'm seeing more of at the film festival that's on in town right now.

Also trying to understand Japanese better. I want to get to a basic level, then decide if I want to push that, French, or Spanish further towards fluency.

It's politics, ideology and warfare. Mostly, it's about the characters, though. You could compare it to Game of Thrones.
And it contains Spaceship Battles like the Death Star battles in Star Wars 4 and 6:

And I am a sucker for Spacecraft fighters than I am for Mecha (unless its Mechwarrior style Mecha)

Oh what I give to experiance piloting a Spacecraft fighter and blast through fleets of Warships and swarms of enemy fighters set to epic militaristic Orchestral music:

I really have been hitting the Warhammer painting hard of late. Getting ready for Armies on Parade here.
Also finally got my Mastadon. My Death Guard are in for a nice little addition.

Also been re-watching a lot of Justice League Unlimited. Forgot how excellent a show it was.
Also off topic, by why does no one ever bring up the heroines are positive roles models in the show? They're fit, healthy, powerful, often get the better of their male counterparts, brave, heroic. Just a bunch a decent qualities, and no one cares...

Shame that...

Go read Dune. It's literally GoT in space. It even has Feudalism.

Overwatch. Almost to a mentally unhealthy degree.

I don't mean I play it all day, but I do play it pretty much everyday, usually between 7-10 PM, sometimes up until 2 in the morning if things go well.

And I'd say it's about 30% enjoying myself, 70% crying over everyone's stupidity.

My girlfriend plays it just as much as I do though, and we've been both trying really hard to get our competitive score up. It's been...fluctuating.

Can't seem to get out of platinum rank. Seems like for every match where the team actually works together, there's two matches where one or two players act like total dicks and blame everyone else instead of admitting they were the problem.

Unfortunately nothing much.

I've got so much great media to consume yet so little motivation to actually go do it.

Eh, I'm sorta back into Final Fantasy 10 again, just for the hokey fun of it.

Three things actually.

My short film which hit a few snags as I realised I had gaps in my knowledge that I had to fill, the lore of the Masquerade series (I just realised that despite all the reading I had done on the wiki that I do not know what the overarching name for the franchise!), and building myself older PCs from outdated hardware. Those are my current passions when I am not gaming.

A couple of things, actually...

Alexander Hamilton! (We are waiting in the wings for youuuu)
Skyrim - I keep jumping between my bosmer and imperial, sometimes my altmer and nord. I can't decide!
Writing fiction - got two novels in the works, and plans for more. I need more time!
Writing non-fiction - starting a new career
Repairing my social life after being a teacher destroyed it - Because ugh...
Reading romantic fiction - Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

It's actually quite draining

Writing, especially now that I've joined a science fiction/fantasy writer's workshop. It cuts a full three hours out of my Sunday, and yet I'm still thrilled that I made the decision. I and two others in the workshop got together and used our collective minds to create a new world. Not satisfied to stop there, I decided to see if I can create a story from this new world. So far, I've finished a character writeup and an alien race writeup. Once I finish a writeup on the cities/colonies I should be ready to move forward with some sort of story.

Also video games, but no game in particular. I jump around a lot between them.

Less so with books, although I am currently jumping back and forth between Terry Pratchet, The Witcher, and The Economist.
