Robert Oppenheimer did not 'invent' the atomic bomb. He and General Groves headed the project that required the cooperation of a large number of prominent scientists. Besides, the A-bomb has saved more lives than it has taken. The best weapon of all is one that doesn't have to be used.

I'm gonna have to go with the entire Kennedy clan for this one. America does not need royalty, especially if they are catholic.

H.P Lovecraft, I am a massive fan of the mythos and all of his writings but by creating the Necronomicon he gave lazy hack writers a convenient tome with which to blame everything.

His works were turned into the unnameable one and two where the main evil was killed with furniture. Cuthulu mansion which was one of the single worst films ever made.

Dagon wasn't great and the Reanimator films whilst classics were not indicative of Lovecraft's writings.

he didn't invent it, he had the influence needed to convince the president an atom bomb was possible. Besides, it was the A-bombs or we could've been slaughtered invading Japan causing many times the deaths. In the end the A-bombs saved lives.

The decision to drop the atomic bomb on Japan was done under the Truman presidency, not FDR's. FDR only started research so that the Nazis would not get one first, and dang, I must say, scary thought to think of what would have happened if the Germans had gotten it first.

Yes definitely her, I wish they had given her an island and sent all her followers there with her to build a society based on her values. That way when people bring her up we can say well in theory ethical egoism sounds logical, but as you can see from the wasteful slum of an island that is Ayn Rand land, its not a very good idea to just say "Fuck it, do what you want and fuck everyone else". Why may you ask my good fellow? Because pretty much every human being is dependent on other human beings and money has no value if you do not have any piece of shit you don't respect to give the money to in exchange for services or goods.

Ayn Rand apparently thinks the Neolithic era of man was the golden age.

Her theories are weak, and as far as I understand, the closest she came to adequately defending her theories was by inaccurately portraying socialism and communism as similar to fascism.

OT: The Man who invented math equations, im sorry its like the most petty hate but he must have been high as a fucking kite to come up with the "logic" behind them. Also Bin Laden, he corrupted the quoran with the wrong idea behind it....hell anyone who corrupts a religion against what it preaches in its holy books ie extremists.

For sure too bad thats how many still defend theories... that is to inaccurately portray pure capitalism to socialism or impure communism.

The whole 'I have become death destroyer of worlds' quote is actually a later quote he attributed himself to saying during the test. Sadly, the quotes we normally get during cool events like that are' hmmph, it worked!', and 'oops!'. Oppenheimer led the civilian scientists that developed the bomb, as General Groves led the military side. If anyone 'invented' it, it would be Enrico Fermi, who built the first reactor in chicago and proved that a self-sustaining reaction could occur.

It wasn't that Einstein was 'high as a kite' when he figured out much of this stuff, it was that he was able to overcome a barrier that many people didn't realized limited them. Newtonian physics seemed to be the absolute truth, but there were strange variations that could not be explained using newtonian physics. Einstein pressed the issue and better explained how the universe works. This paved the path for several other fields to question how they percieved the laws of nature, and a better understanding of everything led to the development of the atomic bomb.

Back in the days, what are some very famous people, those that stand out, do you hate?

For me, I just can't stand General George Patton. The guy is a total prick and one of the most closed-minded people ever to exist. He would kick soldiers out of hospitals for shell shock, because he didn't understand that not everyone loved war and killing Germans like him. He lived for war, nothing else was interesting to him. That's a pretty sick person in my book. This would never be tolerated in today's military.

He even made some dumb speech, which is probably the most unmotivating speech I've ever read. It basically said "You are all here to fight, and kill krauts. You will do this without question. Go do it, sons-of-bitches." Gee, thanks George, that sure motivated the troops. That they are just slaves here to do your dirty work, awesome.

EDIT: I should have editted this a long time ago: Yes, we all know, Hitler and Stalin were pretty bad people, as in very, very bad. I mean more like people who are generally acknowledged as not THAT evil, important, famous, heroic, etc.

1)i said who made it mandatory, because if it wasnt forced on me i probably would like it more.
