If you want something a little more classy and thought provoking than your average horror flick, go for Splice. It's not really horror as it could be labeled suspense, with an analysis of the human psyche and a bit of sex in it.webzu said:/snip
Chucky were good movies, but she also doesn't want dolls to be murderers, if she changes her mind I might look into that thanksdmase said:Ever heard of chucky? Or maybe you've heard of good guy dolls.webzu said:What's that one about? Sounds kinda freaky to be honestdmase said:Child's play ;p
Tell her the name and she'll be like oh that doesn't sound so bad.
Yeah, Grudge is pretty intense, but seeing as it's her first time EVER watching a horror movie I plan to try not to make her too afraid...You know, because she can kick my ass faster than I can put a tie on.Imp Poster said:Some of the Japanese ones are pretty good and scary. I really hated(as in good) The Grudge. That kid scared the shit out of me. There is an american version of that as well. The Ring, not as good as The Grudge, but it was still scary. Both not gory.
Haha sound advice, must remember to watch the movie prior to showing it to herRylot said:One that you've seen before so you don't jump and scream like a little girl.
...Ew. So wrong...FargoDog said:Oh, clearly A Serbian Film. That's the perfect date movie.![]()
This new christmas thing called good guy dolls. One of them gets possessed by a multi murder voodoo practitioner. And shit ensues. Go for it, there is blood but it could be worse and its classic.
THANK YOU! exactly what I was looking forAxzarious said:1408. No real gore, mostly psychological. Bout an evil hotel room that drives people insane. Widely regarded as better than the short story by stephen king that it was adapted from.
Any blood is in the form of minor injuries, and even then, its scarce.
Sorry but the ones I recognize on that list of yours are all very bloody and gory which is exactly I wasn't going for, but thanks anywayQuantum Roberts said:Ok theres a few choices.

I'll probably go for Idle Hands to ease her into horror movies and at a later time I'll take 1408, and might go for Dr.Phibes if I find it anywhere in Iceland ^^ Thanks All for fantastic answers and much faster than I anticipated tooTirunus said:The The Abominable Dr. Phibes and Dr. Phibes Rises Again are both classics from when horror movies and their actors had class. Go with The Abominable Dr. Phibes if you want start the story or go with Dr. Phibes Rises Again if you just want a very enjoyable movie with some great dark humor and a deep plot.

Really? I thought that movie was boring, way too long for its (non existing) plot, and unoriginal. You didn't really get any proper explanations for anything, either.Axzarious said:1408. You could not figure out the plot? I thought it was really self explanatory. As for explanations... You were expecting an explanation from something that was meant to be left up to the viewers interpretation? The Hairminator said:Really? Depends on the girl. What is her taste in films, generally speaking? Answer this and I'll recommend you a nice "crossover" horror film.webzu said:TL;DR : What horror movie should one show to a girl you like without to much blood splatter?
