DLC: Zubat repellant! Only $20!

Also there would be a "new" one every year. Eventually they'd run out of colours and materials and grow desperate for names.

Pokemon Jello
Pokemon Bill Cosby
Pokemon Chickenpox
Pokemon EA is where marketers go to die

Exactly the same. As awesome as Pokemon is, it clearly is designed with cash over game integrity.
This. Alone the split in two games in each block is just there to make more MONEYZ!!!
I read an article in freaking Nintendo Power once, which exists only to toot Nintendo's own horn, about how Pokemon was conceived as a way to sell more link cables. The resulting game just happened to be pure awesome.

I'm going to cover the basics just to force anyone else who posts here to be more imaginative.

- It would be rebooted as an FPS.

- It would include online multiplayer deathmatch mode that would require an online pass.

- There would be day-one DLC pokemon. $10 each.

- There would be microtransactions for rare candies and the better kinds of balls. (Do the pokemon games still use those? I haven't played one since the original red-blue-yellow.)

- The developers would be shut down shortly after release.
they still use the pokeballs, and have a bunch more, some are better then others depending on pokemon type IE some are better for catching bug types, and others fish pokemon, while others make them like you more

Not necessarily. The idea is that you buy one version and a friend of yours buys another, equating to the both of you being able to trade one another any of the Pokemon you did not catch. People buying both versions of the same game is ridiculous, the only thing you're missing out on is maybe three varying Pokemon and the version exclusive legend for the other.

Whatever it would be, it would suck.
Plain and simple.

Actually...its mostly a sports thing anyway so it would just be an average yearly release with no new features.

Assuming that timeline, it's about time for EA to reboot Red/Blue/Yellow as an FPS then.

I'm assuming the reboot would change the world of Kanto into a gritty, dark, post-apocalyptic nightmare where individual Pokemon have mutated into hideous husks of their former beings, and Protagonist, a generic 30-year old white male with a grizzled beard and brown hair, needs to fight his way through wild mutant Pokemon and crazed survivors who have managed to somehow hold onto their old Pokemon over the years, scrounging to survive in the inhospitable wasteland.

The Elite Four is the last bastion of safety in the land, where all of the healthy and sane people have migrated to over the years, and Protagonist needs to fight his way through multiple linear, contrived paths until he can finally unblock the way to Victory Road, where he will face the ultimate challenge!

Pokemon!

Gotta catch 'em all!

[sub][sub]Not physically possible to actually 'catch 'em all' without several planed purchasable updates.[/sub][/sub]
It's already like that, only we have to buy other whole games. Well, unless you have friends.

[sub][sub][sub]Unlikely...[/sub][/sub][/sub]

Even that's no longer needed if you have a wi-fi connection. Online trading makes getting every poke much easier. Though truthfully, it usually is full of retards looking for hacked legendaries at level one...

Super violent mutant cock-fighting sounds badass, though...

Soundtrack will include songs by Pitbull, Lupe Fiasco, and Chiddy Bang. And it will be called John Madden's Pokemon and Madden will not be involved in any capacity. Most of the Pokemon battles will take place on moving trains with lots of explosions. Pokemon will be selected automatically and attacks will be quick time events because we have to appeal to wider audiences.

Also, pokemon die because the trainers are equipped with automatic weapons. There will be survival horror sections of the game where pokemon pop out and you have to shoot them. This is similar to the multiplayer mode, only there it's trainer vs. trainer. You have to shoot the other trainers before they shoot you, generally while retrieving or returning a flag or a poke ball. And it's in the future. In space.

if EA did it lets see there would be left out parts (end cough no elite 4 or battle with team rocket wannabes), game would probably be glitchy or promos would be dlc buy only so basically pay $5 get these 3 pokemon you do not need cause you can action replay them. i could keep going but it would end bad so i hope it never happens.

Probably an okay shiny Pokemon with some exclusive item for the Pokemon that can change formes as preorder or online pass incentive.

yearly releases usually adding very little each time, maybe half of a generation each time, either that or something like Battlefield Premium where you get them as DLC.

3D Pokemon with animation for all the moves.

Pretty good, but probably realistic looking graphics.

Built-in fake twitter feeds from characters in game.

Online Pass needed for trading and all online features.

A way to just buy Pokemon like the shortcut packs for battlefield, probably with the best EVs and IVs for the Pokemon, possibly the same way to get extra Masterballs.

Legendaries that aren't normally obtainable will probably be like 5 dollar DLC expansions that may or may not already be on disc in their entirety.

Probably keep the 2 version formula, but make them both 60 dollars.

I would say they'd market the shit out of that, make a TV show that has gone on too long including several bad spin-offs and release other games not in the main series that are of vary quality to fill in gaps in the production cycle, but all that is already true.

Um... They'd probably have marketed it more in the US?

Hm.

Allow me to clarify.

Protagonist[sup]TM[/sup] will be gun-wielding, having lost the ability to obtain Pokeballs and wild Pokemon in their new, mutated forms being unable to be caught and trained. The crazed people who still have Pokemon will use them to try and take down Protagonist[sup]TM[/sup], who is essentially a buff armory on legs. After Protagonist[sup]TM[/sup] kills the Pokemon in sufficiently brutal and gory ways, he will also fatally wound previously mentioned crazed trainers in his quest to reach the Indigo Plateau.

Letting Protagonist[sup]TM[/sup] catch and use his own Pokemon would be too innovative and promote fun. We at EA can't stand for that.

Well, for a start they would probably make dozens of games which don't really change anything other than the name and the characters.
Also, if you want to unlock new Pokemon you have to pay for them in groups, or wait and buy a whole new game for a lot more.
And multiplayer. Lots of multiplayer.

So, it would be pretty much the same. Except in the multiplayer you actually control your Pokemon in first person, and customise their loadouts.
And you can buy super-effective Pokeballs from the Elite Store.

They'd make sure to release good Pokemon only via some kind of event- OH WAIT!!

Honestly, Event Pokemon are my biggest, and most hate fueled grip against Nintendo. You're only pissing people like me off who are playing your games years after they were first released by with holding Deoxys and Shaymin.
