Is it wrong I fail to see the difference? Yes the jokes about EA are negative but that's only because EA has only negative stereotypes surrounding it. I fail to see this hate mongering.
Not just wrong, that's the entire problem. Think of it as your friends talking about you. Would you be able to see the difference between them making a respectful joke about some character flaw and making an antagonistic joke about it because they think you're a douchebag?

It's called perspective.

Well that isn't a totally fair equivalency. We are a board that discusses gaming and took something from gaming with a bad reputation and played it for laughs. Hardly antagonizing someone for being a douchebag. This is nothing more than some slightly mean spirited lampooning.

Then I would have had no childhood at all. I would be a sad shell of a person, broken and hating the world. Wait...

Take out that "slightly" and you're not only exactly right, but making the point. I know it's the why-can't-we-all-just-get-along in me talking but anything mean spirited like this has no good reason to exist, and getting away from it was one of the reasons I came here in the first place.

I call it defending a company that doesn't really seem to deserve such devotion.
Defending, yes, but that devotion is just the stereotype talking. This is only about the hate they get, which is ridiculously overblown and I'd defend anyone that has to put up with it over trivial things like DLC. That doesn't mean I agree with them, just that I disagree with the other side.

i.e. the side that voted them the worst company in America, in Overstatement of the Century, 21st edition.

Say nice things. Make ideas/suggestions that would work using the EA-style marketing and DLC.
Do I have to be nice? Fine...

-Cool Legendary cross-over Pokemon like Rawke the Dragon/Flying type Pokemon or Sheepard the Fighting/Dark type! Only available through confirmed purchase of Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3.

-Cloud saving over Origin so you can manage, trade or train your Pokemon not only in the game, but also through applications with any device that Origin can take advantage of! New apps for iPhone and Android Phone users to be able to have these same great features!

-Make sure your Pokemon are super effective by using our new Super Breeder! For a small fee, you too can use the Super Breeder to quickly level up Pokemon you don't have a chance to use often and keep them in your rotation! Found in the same house as the breeder and is much faster at leveling your Pokemon.

-Think your Pokemon journey ends with the Elite Four? Think again! New adventures wait just on the horizon with downloadable content at your fingertips. Take your Pokemon to the luxurious island of Peach Paradise to get some much needed R&R, foil Team Rocket and their latest scheme in Blasting Off Again and search for clues in some recently uncovered ancient ruins and discover how Pokemon have evolved over the ages in The Missing Link!

-Never again have the burden of having to choose just one starting Pokemon. Pre-order your copy today and choose an additional starter Pokemon, complete with matching evolution stone!

I'll put more if any other ideas hit me.
Fucking genius. Add Bioware as the developer and this might make it the game of the decade for me.

New game has none of the Pokemon from any previous generation (unless sold as DLC)

Only 50-75 pokemon you can catch without any DLC

The story has been made dark and gritty to make it more realistic

Gameplay changes from turn based RPG to FPS with different moves being slightly different assault rifles

Single player is just to grind up exp and catch pokemon (DLC stories will be released)

Multiplayer is main focus and will require a pass and will also be unplayable until patches are available

DLC to cover what would make the game complete is released to milk money

Next year rinse and repeat.

And all the obvious jokes are taken.
But it really says something about a company when the first things their customers assume about them is cramming price-gouging DLC into every nook and cranny.

I remember when I faced her in FireRed with The Glorious Monster Wasp. He handled that fight pretty much on his own. Pity he went down in usefulness when I reached the Elite Four...

Ah well. At least he stayed with the big boys/girls till level 50.

A third person, cover based shooter.
Your pokemon provide their moves as powers, like mass effect.
You start with 6 pokemon.
The rest are (all 500+ of them) are included as on-disc DLC.
Some are also aviliable as preorder bonus.

...and you play as an american.

The game comes with 10 Pokemon available for capture and the rest will be made available as part of multiple $10 DLC packs. The Elite 4 is a DLC pack.

The combat is streamlined to appeal to a broader audience. Now battles consist of shoot-outs (not with unique attacks, the Pokemon use guns).

In a poor effort to stir up controversy, your character's mother no longer approves of you going out into the world. This plot element lasts for 30 seconds - just long enough to cram it into a "your mom will hate this" ad, and will ultimately go nowhere.

Gay relationships in the Pokemon daycare center now exist. They yield eggs.

It now costs real money to enter the Safari Zone each time to improve realism.
