*ahem* you mean "not to rip off Joan Osborne", right?

edit: nevermind, I missed someone's previous comment w/the correction.

On topic though, I think he would have probably been dragged into an alley, mugged, and killed.

Oooh! What if he was one of us, but the one he was just happened to be one of the ones we let die in Africa, Darfur or Rwanda or whatnot?

Just a note, I'm not advocating that the US, UK, or AUS step into every world conflict, but when there's mass killings of innocent people, I do.

stranger on the bus... nah i think he would wreak havoc, kind of like Old Testament vengeful God

Um, it's not Jewel. It's Joan Osbourne.

But yeah, if he was I'd feel really bad about not mentioning that a hobo just peed on bus seat he just sat down in.

but..but..God is already among us.
I saw him once: running around almost stark naked, looked like a 50 year old man, spouting who he was...
Then the cops came and some guys in a neat white van took him away.

Im with George Carlin when it comes to god:

Why do people naturally assume God has a gender. If it is God, capitalized because there is only one, why then would there be a gender. Gender implies a second being as well as coupling between them to produce offspring. God just creates. God has no gender, otherwise it isn't God but a god.
If you really want to think about what God would be though, it could be anyone. I doubt God would be a ruler though, as it seems from the Bible that he'd rather people choose him on his own. If anything I'd bet God would be a homeless, someone no one would notice, able to watch and if need be interact, but you wouldn't remember the face. It would also be the last form anyone would expect from God, but probably the more appropriate if you want to go by a Christianity metaphor for heaven as being the Father's house, whereas here on Earth God would be walking out of his house.

well, any eager-beaver witnessing Christian will immediately answer with "Jesus WAS one of us!" but that's not really true, with the whole disputed fully human/fully divine issue...

I dunno what God would be like as one of us...but i do enjoy other people's interpretations; like as a strong black mother-figure complete with attitude and hat.

Just a slob like one of us? Just a strangler on a bus? Trying to make his way home?

Id say stop touching my leg, I dont care how crowded the bus is.

I'd say God would be one of those quite people that watches what happens and lets things go wrong.

One of us! One of us! One of us!

I think he'd be a pretty cool guy. At least, I'd make sure I'm on his good side.
