What if Planet Vegeta and the Saiyan race never died out and Goku grew up and lived among his people

This is a question I always thought about in a "What-If/Elseworlds" tale of Dragon Ball Z and exactly as the title says. Goku grows up as a true Saiyan in Planet Vegeta and with Bardock in a father/son relationship (and his mother included aswell but her name I forgot about)

So just out of curiousity how do you guys think this would happen? Me I have this overall premise but I like to here your thoughts. And remember unlike my Jaws thread I really mean that this is all just a What-If tale not that I want the DBZ universe to radically change its story and premise.

Can we just have a "samtemdo basic ideas" thread so there's not 20 of these clogging the forum
Can't help it, I am in a talkative mood, and Compiling all the ideas in a single thread would only make for a cluttered discussion.

So I guess better to make a thread every 2-3 days than?

It kinda reminds me of a similar "What If" scenario where Krypton didn't blew up and Kal-El had to live there. Though the difference being Saiyans are a warrior race instead of Kryptonians being a scientific civilization. (Well, except for Man of Steel which that felt more akin to warriors honestly.

If Goku grew up on Planet Vegeta, then yeah, he would turn out just like every other Saiyan: a brute warrior obsessed with conquer and rule.

This would probably happen
Can't see the image in question from my end?

1. Not so much Warrior but more imperialistic.

Also I have an Elseworld story idea of what if Superman crashed landed on Themyscira and among the Amazons.

Didn't they do that in one of the movies?

I can't remember which one but I'm sure I've seen something about what if Kakarot was raised as a Saiyan.

Well there was this Bardock Manga which was an alternant take on the events that lead to Goku leaving the planet and Goku was already a 5-ish year old kid in the Saiyan Armor when Bardock and his mom sent him away.

And there was that Kid Raditz Manga that came out.

And there is Turles from the Tree of Life movie which I think is what you were asking because Turles the charcater is basicalyl just made as a "if Goku was a pure breed Saiyan" bad guy.

Then he would not have hit his head and would happily be destroying entire civilizations and selling their planets for profit. If my memory didn't fail me that was the family business.

Goku was classified as a low class saiyan, he would probably live out his life as a grunt, fighting battles to conquer planets for Freeza and never rising above his designated rank.

Always wanted a Dragon Ball MMO style game where you'd be part of the Saiyan army, flying across the universe, fighting enemies and conquering planets, possibly fighting different factions... 😔

Well, in the Dragon Ball Multiverse fanmanga there's an alternate timeline where Bardock learned to control his visions, beat King Vegeta in a challenge for the throne, and then and mounted a successful ambush against Freeza. Kakarott doesn't get sent to Earth, ends up a common grunt and never reaches SSJ. Eventually, Dr Raichi ends up whiping out the Saiyans anyway (save for Bardock).

The same fanmanga also has another timeline where Freeza makes the Saiyans asplode and Kakarott got sent to Earth as normal, but never hit his head. He stayed your typical violent Saiyan blood knight, whiped out most Earthlings, kinda got insane from loneliness and eventually gets picked up by Raditz. This alternate Goku does reach SSJ (but after Vegeta and remains nr.2 in strenght) and is also completely psychotic. And kinda rapey. And cannibalistic.

He'd by just another Saiyan Freeza grunt.

Seriously, without his massive head wound and earth's abundance of bullshit power boosts, he'd have been just another dude.

Then Beerus blows up planet Vegeta like he wanted Freeza to do.

My idea for this alternant story was Goku is a grunt, but compared to other Saiyans, he's more "nicer" because he mostly lived with his mother before he became a grunt.

And basically the not so surprise twist is that against all the odds and despite all the bullying and mockery, he becomes the first Super Saiyan, and that happens when his father Bardock dies in front of his eyes. And this triggers The Vegeta family greatly.

I've been watching Dragon Ball Super... and isn't that basically the story of the kid in the tournament with Universe 6?

Freeza never took over. Planet Vegeta wasn't destroyed. The kid seems similar to Goku (this is stretching it a little... but he *was* the first Super Saiyan of Universe 6).

And if someone says that Super is just fanfiction... so is this thread :p
