Seriously, what if? What if it sucks? What if it's all been hype? WHAT WILL WE DO?

I won't notice as I am so convinced it will be good that when I play it, my mind will block out all the bad bits.

Then I will laugh.

It's a Bethesda game, so it might have a ton of bugs that cripple the game. I'm also expecting 4 or 5 different voice actors, along with 25 different faces to go along with them.

Then I shall weep. For days. And then hope against hope that the modders can rescue me from my misery and despair.

That's about a thousand-to-one chance, though. No way Bethesda is going to drop the ball on this particular franchise.

turn it back in for saints row 3 or assassions creed.
You could do that? Just... turn it back in? No tears, no slit wrists, NOTHING?

You mean like every other Bethesda game before the mod community makes it playable?
Well... Yeah, actaully, come to think of it.

I think I'd go on with my life, and would presumably have gained a whole lot more time to spend on other things.... I sank a LOT of hours into Morrowind when it came out.

This game will most definitely suck. My life away, that is.
Or suck my brains out.
Or suck away any chances of having anything similar to a social life for the next three months.
If that's what you mean by suck, then I agree with you.

Impossible. The mod community will fix any problems that it has. If you own it for console, well, that sucks for you.

The world would keep turning and I would only notice because of the seething shitstorm that would subsequently erupt on these forums.

Awful in the way that people describe Oblivion or awful in the sense of Vampire Rain?
If the first, I will still love it.
And as for the second, I love Deadly Premonition. It'd have to do everything so poorly that it was actually unplayable for me to dislike it. I mean. The game would have to be unplayable. I seriously doubt (at the very least) that the exploration aspect would be any worse than Oblivion's (and I personally love Oblivion).

I still play Oblivion entirely unmoded and find very few game ending bugs or horrible travesties (although I have run into plenty of bugs, glitches, and freezes) that everyone talks about. Mods are great, but I have never played a Bethesda game so broken that it couldn't be enjoyed without mods.
