Then I'll have to wait another week for happiness (it's essentially impossible for Skyward Sword to suck).

However, I'd be exceedingly depressed regardless.

Eh, play it anywho.
Waited this long, not going to let something as small as being utterly terrible stop me from enjoying it.
Plus I'm not that hard to please, rather simple really.

Other people? Hard to tell, but I can make a guess I suppose.
A bit of Rage here, some snide there, a pinch of die hard defenders, and probably a nice pile of people simply stating which RPG they'll be doing instead (Possibly followed by one of the other things).

I doubt it will suck though.
It may be seen as terrible due to possible over-hyping raising expectations (Something that can ruin any good game), but it's bound to be at 'Pretty good" at the least... Probably...

Then I will lose all faith in Bethesda as a game studio. Seriously if they fuck this up it will probably mark the first time I start actively avoiding games made by a specific developer.

Well I'm not getting Skyrim on release date I'll probably get it on my birthday in February. So if it did suck I would probably already know and I wouldn't care much since I tend not to buy into the hype so I would be pretty indifferent.

Then I will laugh.

It's a Bethesda game, so it might have a ton of bugs that cripple the game. I'm also expecting 4 or 5 different voice actors, along with 25 different faces to go along with them.
There are over 70+ voice actors for Skyrim so you don't have to worry about. Now the bugs are going to be a pain since this is a Bethesda game.

OT: I would say NO in the most dramatic way possible and then keep playing it anyway.

Then we get to have a good old fashion riot with pitch forks and torches.

On the serious side, well there is still BF3, MW3, LOZ Skyward Sword, and three months later ME3. Sure it will be disappointing if Skyrium sucks, but there will be plenty of other games to soften the blow unless they all turn out to be disappointments.

Theyve actually fixed the modders fixing bugs thing by actually making it easier to read the code(or so ive heard) so that others can fix it or mod it if anything is wanted to be done
(not 100% on this one tho)
OT: Depending on the rest of the day that i had so far i would contemplate either murder or suicide... more into the idea of murdering Todd Howard then suicide(to avoid the cops you see)

But as long as you get it on PC, there will be so many patches and mods and what-not that you can make it any game you want. For the PC, it is more like Bethesda is making a back-bone, and the modders are giving players all the parts they need to make whatever skeleton they want.

OT: I'm always a little worried by games that sounds great, so I tend to wait a bit until I can have a good look at it (thank heck I didn't impulse buy FFXIII). So if it is a bad game, then I won't buy it.

Apparently there's over 80. And the faces at least look good, so you'll be looking at least 25 appealing faces for the rest of the game.

OT: I'd probably look around in fear because I'd realize that I stepped into an alternate reality where that is legitimately possible.

Edit: Don't you just love reading everybody answer you with the exact same thing?

Sell it.

I mean, really, what else would we do? Cry? I've been kicked in the groin too many times by new games to be completely without skepticism, but I'm pretty confident in Bethesda's ability.

If it's bad, I'll probably still buy TES VI. Morrowind and Oblivion just sucked up too much of my life not to.

It's not going to happen. There is enough verified info on the game out there now to conclusively say that it will be awesome as far as I am concerned.

It could even be so buggy as to be unplayable: it will still be awesome.

As for the mod thing, yeah some mods are good and I am very glad to have them (Oblivion spell delete for example) but most are just stupid and unnecessary crap that should never have been in the game (The dozens of awful, hideous new races people make for example).

Return it for Cod. Though I'm very doubtful that I'll have to. Like 99.999999nine-nine-nine-*Russian nine*, 6 I mean nine, percent sure I won't need to.

I'd not be surprised, have you played their other recent games? I can't figure out what went wrong, Morrowind was so good.
The last game they made was Fallout 3, but they published a ton of shitty games. Big difference, you don't say EA developed Mass Effect, do you?

The only way it'd be truly awful is if Bethesda screws up the the players ability to mod...somehow.

That said. If Skyrim is awful then their always be mods for fix it up.

Then I'll play Oblivion until I'll lost all sanity. Until I've lost all touch with reality. Then I'll probably play some Assassin's Creed and make a sandwich.
