Then I will laugh.

It's a Bethesda game, so it might have a ton of bugs that cripple the game. I'm also expecting 4 or 5 different voice actors, along with 25 different faces to go along with them.
This time they have 70 I think I they heard that more voice actors might be good.

I really wouldn't care, I'd be too busy playing Dark Souls or more Human Revolution. I wasn't going to buy Skyrim anyway, didn't like Oblivion much at all, and while the improvements they've made look cool, there are some things that are inherent to the Elder Scrolls series that I just hate. (Morrowind was alright though)

Not gonna buy it anyways; so this doesn't affect me.

But yeah, get Saints Row 3 or Halo Anniversary instead. Those will definitely not suck.
Well Saints Row 3 will be awesome, and since we have already F$@#in played halo thats obviously gonna be OK.

But to answer the op, Be very very sad but probable still enjoy unless it is crap on an astounding level. Then I'll curse return it stop buying stuff from Bethesda and go play Dark Souls some more.

accept they will.
You mean except? I know for a fact Halo will be good cause it's basically the same game but better in a a few more ways. Saints Row 3 - well, if you've seen the trailers so far, there's no way you can think it'll suck.
just as likely as skyrim sucking and skyrim is from a better series then those two.

I'd not be surprised, have you played their other recent games? I can't figure out what went wrong, Morrowind was so good.
The last game they made was Fallout 3, but they published a ton of shitty games. Big difference, you don't say EA developed Mass Effect, do you?
no but I do say they made oblivion and fallout 3, which were shitty games.
Guess what Fallout 3 and Oblivion weren't "shitty" you just didn't like them many people thought they were great. I don't get why people think these games were bad feh.

Well ya know what they say Opinions are like a@#holes, everybody has one and they all stink.

Seriously, what if? What if it sucks? What if it's all been hype? WHAT WILL WE DO?
move on and get over it, not like it'd be the only 'ultra hyped release' to end up sucking

So what? Then one day some other awesome game will show up.

This is the perfect example why it's best to keep expectations to a minimum. At least then there is a significant probability of pleasant surprise. When a game simply HAS TO BE GOOD...people are likely to set themselves up for major disappointment.

I'll laugh a bit, and feel thankful that the hype-machine is finally dead.
But then I'll realize that a fanboy can (ir)rationalize anything if they try hard enough, wait for a few more months of "ZOMG! THIS IS AWESOME!!" and then return to the status-quo.

This. I generally have low expectations going in. It means I'll at least be right or pleasantly surprised.

I'm sure the sales will be good regardless but if it's bad then I'm sure all the people getting it will be very disappointed and lose trust in Bethesda. I mean, I hear so much about Skyrim and every time a thread about a game people are excited about or getting comes up, Skyrim is mentioned in every other post. So obviously many people want it (excluding me) so I would feel bad for them if it sucked, especially my friend who traded in a lot of old games just to get skyrim.

Sucks is such a subjective feeling, to me it's not living up to the expectations, that has a lot to do with the hype the thing in question received.

The nice thing about Skyrim is that it's hype has been very subdued. They told us a crap load of "bad" stuff about the game up front.

They told us not to expect all that much more than Oblivion.

They told us it can be beaten in two hours.

They told us they couldn't possibly fix all the bugs.

There was a lot of good stuff too but it was mostly mechanical stuff they were talking about.

So Bethesda has done a pretty good job at keeping our expectations in check.

The one thing that could make Skyrim "Suck" for me is if the NPC's are as repetitive and lifeless and schizophrenic and so on as they were in Oblivion. That would make the new marriage thing as token and pointless as it was in Fable.

And if that happens I'll be disappointing but it won't ruin the game for me. I still loved Oblivion and I rarely ever talked to any towns folk except for shop keepers.
I totally get where you're coming from, but they've actually tried, at the very least, to diversify the NPC pallette recently. By hiring over 70 voice actors for the bloody game to record 60,000+ lines of dialogue. I think that's about 10 times more than Oblivion, at least in terms of voice actors.

I can totally fall in line with the idea that it might not be perfect, but at the same time the lack of pre-release hype coupled with how good the game is looking at this point is getting me really bloody excited. I'm glad the Bethesda haven't said "oh hey guys, our game is going to be the best game ever made" they just told us about it and showed us some stuff, and now it's shaping up to make Oblivion look goddamn primitive.

I think this video is once again appropriate:
LoL video.

Also that's pretty good considering that Oblivion had like, What was it 2 voice actors per race. And Patrick Stewart. By the way, has there been any word on who the big name voice actor who's going to die before you pick a class is for this game?
