What if video games didn't exist?

What would the world be like if there was no interactive entertainment period? No Halo, no Half-life, no Warcraft, no Mario, no nothing. A world where the very concept of interacting with the screen in any way above typing or changing the channel. What would this world be like? Would we do? Would we go outside, read comics, or just spend all our time on the internet? Will we be more productive? Would Jack Thompson have anything to complain about? Would the world be a better place without Maddan, or a worse one without Portal? Would this entire planet even notice there abscence? Would the Escapist even exist? What do you guys think the world would be like if our hobby just simply didn't exist?

On that note if anyone has any 1st edition Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks, I'll pay you $10 for it... I know it seems like a lot but its worth it to me...

I'd do something else. I'd still probably be a movie nerd, and I might still play sports that I hate. I'd probably be better at guitar, and I probably would have even less to talk about.

I can answer the Jack Thompson question - before video games, the guy used to complain about music.
As for everything else, it'be quite a missed opportunity but we wouldn't know that, would we, so I guess most of us would've had other hobbies.

I'd read books more often or I'd invent games... because we have computers, why wouldn't we have thought games yet?

I'd probably play sport ... no, actually, I probably wouldn't, the reason I stopped has nothing to do with videogames ... I'd have ... I'd ... I'd be learning an instrument and another language ... hopefully latin.

I'd probably be a serial killer, stalk my victims, shoot them, chop them down to pieces and bury their bodies (or better yet burn them or feed them to animals) in no particular order, the world should thank Doom and GTA for keeping individuals like me near the PC screen.

Me i dont know what i would do maybe read books or i would proberly be bored out of my skull by now xD. that or try harder to find another paper based RPG like D&D and btw i dont care how geeky that sounds it is so much fun with a few good mates lol
