Greed, I think. A bit of selfishness is required to get by, you do have to stick up for yourself after all. But greed is just unnecessary and never helpful.

I would say hate but thw hate for injustice and all things wrong is somthig good.
I'm gonna go with pride. It makes people put something that is in reality no that important and puts in in front of important things. Pride is bad and it clouds are judgement.

Did you just generalize all religious people as terrorists.

i would say the worst thing about mankind for me is self-destructive tendencies(infighting between humans. not suicide, that's irregular and dumb). i could do away with that. it makes me wish there were other actual races for us to fight with, just to curb our own infighting.

to be honest though, if i was given the option of race changing, i would totally jump the humanity ship.

Yes, but not the suicide bombers the media has popularized. I view religious people as terrorists to themselves. Think about it, most religions teach there brainwashed followers they are fallen sinners that are unworthy of love and affection and are only redeemed through pledging allegiance to the prophet of there religion, while the religions that don't do that make you waste your life away with pointless prayer. In the end it still wastes your life.

We need to do away with beliefs that make you feel guilty for being human, that is the real terrorism.

Money and everything that goes with it! It was a very good idea to start with but it's nothing like that now. I think it's time to get back to bartering

Old age.
Being old sucks (or so I've heard), old people are fairly depressing for the rest of us, and taking care of your health as you grow older becomes costly. People would still be able to die, it just wouldn't be an inevitability.
Plus imagine how awesome it would be if people like Ghengis Kahn and Benjamin Franklin were still alive today.

I would erase the aspect of stupidity, our world would be so much farther along with we didn't have idiots holding back our progress.

We all know the human race isn't perfect. We got our good sides and our bad sides. But what if you could erase one aspect (thing, part) of mankind, what would you erase?

I believe if you erase too much, you essentially stop being human or at least that what defines us. But if you just change one thing, we would still remain human, no? But be careful; erasing one bad thing, might make (other) things worse.

Erase fear or pain? No, we need those keep ourselves in check.
Erase hunger? Hmm, but that drives us to eat and in turn survive.
Erase disease? Science will do that for us, eventually, I suppose.
Erase anger? Yes, that would make things better. I would erase anger, I think.

What about you? Which one aspect of mankind would you change?
You obviously haven't seen Serenity. No, we need anger just like we need all our other emotions.

I don't know what I would erase, perhaps Justin Bieber?

How long has it been since you've been to a religious service? First off your generalizing all religion to be Abrahamic, animist and many polytheists don't have a specific prophet(usually) and don't necessarily pray all that much.
Secondly, why do you completely forget the other parts of religion other than devotion, like help the poor, meek, etc. in the Christian faith, or how Islam united separate clans into a sprawling empire that promoted intellectual discovery and trade in the Classical per'iod (using Abrahamic because I know about these more.) "Wasting life with pointless prayer..... WE'RE VIDEO GAMERS we waste our time and life too in pursuit of entertainment or the next level. Your making assumption and generalizations about a group that you are no part of! The only religious people you wish to see are the outspoken crazy one! What about organizations like the Red Cross, or Christian Church groups who organize charities to give to various countries in need? Is that terrorism? Many Christian Churches I've been to are merely congregation points for believers to spread the word, learn about what the(primarily new testament) scripture and help the needy, you know like what Jesus preached. It's not terrorism to themselves, especially when many times a religious experience can drive them to become a better person as a whole. I know it's predominantly Christian oriented, but that is what I know.

You know I don't hate atheist, at least not by default, but that is really hard to do on this site when many atheists here also have some weird Vendetta against religon. I ask you to respect my beliefs(whether or not you think I'm "Brainwashed" doesn't matter), and I'll respect yours).

Now on to the real topic, removing an aspect of Mankind is a tricky subject, your bound to want to remove something that may have some unintended consequences and make the end result not quite human any more, so with that in mind I would like to remove the lapses in common sense people tend to have. I know many of us probably had an error in judgement in the past that they would like to take back, I don't think much humanity would disappear if we had fewer Darwin Awards.

Communication delay between individuals. IE, we can fire information straight from neuron in our own heads to neuron in another person.

This would almost instantly result in our entire race becoming a biological internet, with access to all possible perspectives and knowledge. War would cease, because nobody in their right mind would attack themselves, and anybody in their WRONG mind would already be known to whoever else there was. We will lose our hatred of others, as we can understand each other perfectly. The ability to know every problem another person has will allow us to FIX those problems, asap, if they're beyond the ability of man to fix. Our efficiency will increase beyond calculable measure, because not only could we all do anything anyone could do (well, that they could THINK of) but we'd be able to know precisely when we'd need to do it.

We could read, work, play, eat, fight, sleep, love and have sex ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

And best of all, we'd have unity of purpose - everyone would work towards the goals of our entire race.

....

Alternatively, i'd like to eliminate the ability to craft a false self-image - ie, pride.

I would eliminate our general ability to be complete douchebags towards each other. How it's accomplished, I don't care.

Gogo dystopian society!

I would get rid of the urge to get rid of aspects of humanity. Flawed as we are there's a reason we're built like this. Trying to change that equation will only cause more problems than it ever hopes to solve.

The fact that we are Anthropocentric

God this world would be so much more nicer if we weren't so full of ourselves.
So you'd see technological innovation stagnating, eh? The whole reason we invent all this crazy shit is because we want to make things better for ourselves, removing that desire removes our desire to make cool new things.

I would get rid of willful ignorance. Not knowing everything is fine, I mean nobody knows everything. It is the people that don't WANT to know more than they do that should be beaten with a large trout.
What's so bad about someone not wanting to know about the normal political dealings of Ethiopia? There's no reason for anyone outside that country to give two shits about it, but what you propose has all seven billion of us studying it. For no reason.
I guess I should clarify. Willful ignorance is TRYING to avoid knowing something. The most commonly seen discussion involving this is in evolution vs creationist debates and it applies to both parties. Creationists will refuse to learn about evolution, even in an effort to come up with a better argument. Evolution supporters will refuse to read the bible or learn of alternative creationist theories. Just because you disagree with something on face value doesn't mean you should not learn about it if you are going to discuss it.

Not knowing about Ethiopian politics would fall into the normal ignorance category, not willful ignorance.

Corruption. In the political sense. This recession would not happen if politicians started caring more about consequences and less about their wallets.

Greed. So very much. Selfishness may be biologically viable to keep an organism alive, but when scaled up to economy, power, and government, it is the root of a great many evils.
