What if you could turn one movie or series into a videogame, which movie or series would you choose and what kind of game would it be?

Personally I have to go with MacGyver. It would become an adventure game. As you know MacGyver doesn't kill people, so there will be no shooting or killing. Instead you are only armed with your trusty swiss army knife and a repertoire of items which you have to combine on the spot into something useful to fix the situation. Some scenarios will focus more on solving puzzles while others scenarios are more open and require improvisation to solve. How can you stop a rogue military unit from taken over a town with just a water bottle, a rope and a few pieces of wood.

The game will be non-linear mission based with optional side missions. All the main story mission will reveal a sinister plot about...nah, I won't spoil anything. :)

So... which movie or series would you choose?

Because is sounds as idiotic as most of the Star Wars expanded universe tech. Possibly?

My contribution: The Room. Complete HD 1080pIXghirot resolution, all voice acting and modeling by Tommy Wisceau. You know you'd pre-order it.
Uh huh because games are always super serious and non idiotic right?

The little-known manga, Saiyuki. I reckon it would make a fantastic game, if done right of course. I did hear that they did make a game of it, but it never came out outside of Japan, so I know nothing about it.

There's a Super Robot Wars game on the PSP that features Simon and Kamina in it, but sadly it's Japan only for now, and nothing has been announced about bringing it over.
But I would probably have to go with this too, being the Gurren Lagann fanboy that I am.

I would love a Babylon 5 RPG. In my mind, you would start off fairly low down, possibly a young Earth Force recruit who moves their way up through the ranks to a position of power, possibly one of the people who hangs around with the command staff such as Sheridan as shit such the Shadow War and the war against Earth begins. You have to make the choice as to what side you have to take. Or perhaps you start off as a Lurker in Down Below, someone that came to Babylon 5 to find a better life and ended up homeless and broke and you work your way up, either getting a job on Garibaldi's security force or getting more mixed up in crime until you are a feared crimelord. Or maybe you join the Rangers and have to do secret assignments. You can choose what race you play and the game has a branching storyline as your decisions shape the game around you.

Once you get to a certain level in the game, you have access to various spaceships and can explore the galaxy, explore the mysteries of Jump Space (within limits) and all the while, the main plot of the TV series is unfolding around you which you can choose to ignore if you want (and are boring, imagine running your market stall as everyone else is off fighting the Shadows) or get involved as much as you want. It could even carry on the plot of the cancelled Crusade spin off.

Of course, a game this big would be full of bugs, but I would buy a game like this. In the meantime, I suppose I will have to settle for the Mass Effect series.

I always thought a Dresden Files game in the vein of L.A. Noire would be interesting. The character is a wizard/detective, after all, which lends itself to a case by case narrative structure with a focus on adventure game-y stuff rather than just straight combat (though, like Cole Phelps, Harry isn`t afraid to get his hands dirty).

SUCKERPUNCH!

I can imagine that movie being a silent hill-esq type game ( only if it was done by the same team that did silent hill 1-3). The atmosphere was great , the movie was creepy and it used video game logic . The movie was original and different if not "good" , but i found it to be enjoyable as long as i wasn't taking it seriously and imagined it as a game . I really think it would make a pretty food survival horror game, IF done properly , which is a pretty big IF.

I want to see Code Geass as a turn based strategy game, essentially Fire Emblem with robots. Preferably with two campaigns: one for the Black Knights and one for Suzaku and the Britannian military.

Really? I have to be the one to bring this up?

FIREFLY

Imagine Freelancer spliced with Red Dead Redemption. My god, it could easily be the science-fiction equivalent of Skyrim.

Yeah I heard of that, but what I meant was like a full Gurren Lagann game, that would be freaking amazing
