You received $1,000,000 from an anonymous source as a gift no questions or favors asked, would you spend it, would you give it away, put it away, burn it, what ever you wanted to do with that money.

Explain what you would do with all of that money. And be realistic

I myself would put it all in a 5 different bank accounts all for different reasons

1. Spending- on "wants" not needs like a nice car
2. Emergency-(just in case my things were stolen or destroyed)
3. Family- if my closest relatives needed support
4. Bills- self explained
5. Future- in case I raise a family

And I was asked this question by my wealthy Grandfather through the phone out of random
but i couldn't answer that question right away but it took 2 days and now I'm giving the question to you.
Put it in the bank
Live off the interest (which is like $700 a week)
Well interest and job so I live very comfortably
then when I don't need it anymore I spend it on something stupid

Prepare for several apocalypses.
Throw several party's.
Buy clothes, food and stuff.
Buy parents a nicer house.
Put some aside.
Buy stuff I want or need or spend it on random stuff!

Now that's out the way...
I'd probably give half of it to my parents straight away, they deserve it for all the things they've done for me over the years.
Then I'd probably put a quarter of it into savings so I can frolic around with the interest later on.
Then spend the last quarter on whatever the heck I want. Probably games, novelty shirts, a camel, stuff like that.

Or get it converted into coins, put it all in a really big safe and swim around in it, Scrooge McDuck style. Actually, that sounds like way more fun.

I can imagine an obituary of someone breaking their neck trying to dive into a pool full of change.

Let it gather interest in a bank account (with high interest rates) and live off said interest, rarely dipping into the fund
I'd do this. This and buy myself a buy myself a nice garage where I'd work on old cars for fun and profits. That and an early seventies Falcon for myself which I would make race worthy.

I would fund my own traveling waffle bar. My dream, for years, has been to buy a flat-bed truck, a team of professional caterers, and drive around in poorer parts of the world. I'd pull up outside of starving villages in third world countries and stay there until all the residents were thoroughly full of waffles, then drive on to the next village to hand out free waffles.

A recent addition to this plan, at the suggestion of a health conscious friend, is the fruit salad mini-bar that would follow in a large pick up truck behind the waffle bar.

I'm not kidding. I've been planning the logistics of this for, like, five years.

I'd put half of it in savings. Probably going into investments and government bonds, stuff that'll be put away for a good while and build a good chunk of interest.

I would immediately go on vacation. I've always wanted to go to Japan... I'd get a modest house, stock it full of all the nerdy things I could want, and by then I should still have at least 300,000. The rest I'd put away to use on living expenses to live comfortably for at least a few years.

I would buy a lot of Video Games and Nerf Guns. Then a bigger house and pay for college. Also a really good computer for gaming and Some games for that. Anything left would go into a savings account.

In order;

1) Rid myself from the evils of credit card debt
2) Put half of it away, where I can't touch it for a few decades
3) Buy a BMW z4... I don't care if most people associate BMW's with suburbanite couples who enjoy key parties: that car is soooo damn sexy [http://www.cartype.com/pics/6493/full/bmw_z4_b_09.jpg]...
4) Sit on the rest. I'd still have a regular job, I might go back to school. I'd basically just have the rest to live comfortably with. I'd try and spend out of my "From Work"-fund as much as possible, but when the car needed repairs, or if I lost my job for some reason, I wouldn't have to be too stressed about it.

I'd buy a house with about $800,000, use $50,000 to furnish it and leave the final $150,000 to pay for bills and stuff.

But first thing's first,

I'd getting myself this bad boy in LCD. :D

I wonder how much it will cost if one of the lights went out in one of those?

I'd spend some, then but the rest in a savings account. Maybe donate some to a lupus or Aids charity

Firstly, get loads of top notch high tech crap for myself, you know all the latest stuff. Then put about £750,000 in my bank account and save it there.

(I'm gonna go ahead and change those $1,000,000 dollars to £1,000,000 pounds, because:

1. I am from the UK.

2. I get more money :D

don't judge me :p)

Pay off my next 3 years of college.

Build a gigantic house.

Buy a 1967 black Chevy Impala. (You'll get a reward if you know why. And it's not just because I like that kind of car.)

Anything I want.

Well, most of it would go into my savings account so I'd get the interest, then I'd just use that in exactly the same way as I do with the money I get normally. I live fairly frugally anyway, though I do enjoy splashing out sometimes on new CDs or DVDs or whatever. However, I'd probably take at least a few hundred, if not thousand, pounds and just go spending on loads of CDs, DVDs, games and whatnot (and I'd get a PS3 and an iPod Touch, which I'm currently saving up for instead).

Overall, I'd be very sensible with the money, but still buy nice things, and maybe give some to my family to help them out financially :p.
