What in your opinion is the most offensive word in the english language?

Based on history, I would have to assume the most offensive word to a majority of people is "Moderation," as in, not being so extreme. Everyone seems to be one extreme or the other, never willing to compromise.

Words are words and when said with no malice should remain just that.

I am an open minded female who is rarely offended. However I do not enjoy being referred to as a "*****" or "****". If someone has a problem with the way I am acting, they have every right to confront me about it, not use such a term to describe me either to my face or behind my back.

I know it isn't really one word, but it still annoys me.
It's used so often when people want to make an intelligent discussion lower than them and just give their high horse some stilts.
I just thought of another one that has been annoying me recently.
Coward, Cowardice and the like.
It's used SO often by the news whenever something bad happens. The terrorists are cowards. The shooting was cowardly. The people who hate gays are cowards.
NO. NONE of those people are cowards. Yeah, they are all extremely bad, no question about it, but they aren't cowards.
Killing yourself in the name of something is pretty much the bravest act humans are capable of. Going on a shooting spree isn't exactly brave, but it still takes some balls. Insulting people is something everyone in the world has done. It isn't a cowardly act.
I get that the news and others don't want to compliment these terrible people, but if that's the case, just don't bring up the topic of braveness.

"professional politician" a profession that should not exist, being a pro politician means you have no soul, no beliefs, that you lie cheat and steal on a regular basis, that you have never run anything real, like a business, worked with real people much at all, so how the hell are you qualified to run a state, the nation if you have never actually done anything but be a "politician", and claim that you can feel people's pain when you have no heart to begin with.
I don't have a problem with the word '****'. I hear people in my local area shout that word in the street all the time. My mum has been known to call me one a few times also...

If I say "Shut the fuck up, thundercunt," you'll likely just laugh because thundercunt.
However, if I liken your existence to that of refuse, lesser than vermin that scour my trash without using any 'offensive words', it'll likely be much more offensive, I think.

Well there are squeamish morons that find words like "fuck" or "****" to be offensive, but the only things I find offensive are when someone wants to put their religious bullshit in my life or government which while not a word per-se seeing the word "god" in official documents tends to piss me right off.
Mine is a phrase, "political correctness", I guess you could also include "health and safety". One is "lets treat everybody with kid gloves and tell them what they should be offended by", the other is just outright stupidity!
I read somewhere that in health and safety guidelines, that to separate frozen burgers you have to wear a chain mail gauntlet .... Where the fuck do you buy a chain mail gauntlet? Medieval fare? It's an insult to human intelligence.
As for other words mentioned, get over it. They are words, noises we have given meaning to, how can you be offended by ****? It is meaningless for a start, it was first used in a poem to describe something a nun wears ... "cunts and cowls" was the line, thing is there is no such piece of clothing a nun wears.
