Any display of stupidity on the part of AI allies in games, especially the ones that aren't expendable.

As a prime example, I was finishing off a run of Resident Evil 5 I had forgotten about, and got to the first fight with Wesker in the ruins. I was playing as Sheva and Chris was really excelling himself at being a right nuisance. If he wasn't managing to stand right in my line of sight just as I had a perfect opportunity to shoot Wesker with his back turned, he was standing in the open area in the middle where
Jill
could fill him full of bullets at leisure.

Other than that, anything like the ringing of the phone or anything else equally jarring. Or random strangers sending me messages about 1 vs 100.

In an actual game game, it actually really annoys me to get knocked over, cause you cant do anything but sit and watch your character as it falls over and gets back up, while all the enemies are taking advantage of it...I only started getting annoyed by that after the Alien Hominid part in Castle Crashers, theres about 40 of the things all after you, and each bullet can knock you down, talk about cheap.

But online wise, I have to agree with everyone who talks about the little kids online, it annoys the hell out of me, because they love singing, and they almost always teamkill, and are always trying to glitch, just like on of my friends little brother, his little brother always tries to find glitches for everything.

in online games:

Team killers...

When my girlfriend demands attention in the middle of combat, as if I could just pause an online session.

"Hey guys! can't you all just freeze and wait for when I'm ready, my girlfriend feels ignored."

Offline:

cheap tactic enemies.

no auto save function.

People who use their mic (too often they are screaming little kids, even in 18+ games), and people who don't use their mic (it's really hard to win team games when noone communicates).
I agree WHOLE HEARTEDLY. I don't even bother using a headset unless I'm playing with other grown-ups who actually like to use, oh I don't know, TACTICS.
Oh yeah! I weep whenever I play online team games like Team Fortress 2, because I know it would be so much easier to win if I was playing in a team where people communicate, devise strategies together, warn each other about threats etc. But instead usually there'll be a bunch of silent people doing purely their own things, and then one or (even worse) two people who use their mic but only to sing songs, scream whenever they get killed, tell stories totally not relevant to the game, keep asking the same questions over and over etc. It's a delight to play with people from my Friends List, even if there's only one or two.

"Hey... hey guuuuys, let's glitch. Do you wanna glitch? I know the glitch."
Hahaha that's my new phrase on XBL, many thanks!

I guess what irritates me is when I kill a girl on XBL and all the guys start ganging up on me because competing against a female on a video game proves that you are not attracted to her and they you are gay.

People who couldn't tell between Mario and Sonic asking me what game I'm playing. As if they care. Then when I tell them they go "are you winning?". Uhm, I'm playing a JRPG so I'm not really winning or losing.

The really bad ones ask how many points you have, or what your highest score is.

On the topic of JRPGs, when you instinctively walk slow because you think walking slow reduces your chances of a random battle.

when someone comes in and tell me i have to do something while im playing tf2 and other games like that. and when playing i find someone who calls my team faggots because we were winning. we might be winning and destroying you in a game but that doesnt mean you should act like we just broke all your expensive things. i got into a fight with him and the next day he told everyone to voteban me on tf2. good thing most people who play tf2 first want proof that im a douchbag. the people there are nice and if one person keeps killing me i just play spy and find a way to kill him. they get me and i get them its a win for both.

I used to play a lot of games, all the time, and my parents would bug me. Naturally so, of course that pissed me off, but its understandable when I was playing games for 1-6 hours every day of my life. But now I hardly ever play games. Like when a new one comes out I will play through it really quick. So its more like I'm less addicted to multiplayer now. But when I do play these new games, my parents will bug me like it was the good old days and I had been playing this game for the past 3 months! Asking me to do stupid shit, just because I'm playing a game, out of old habits I guess? Because they hadn't asked me to do fuck all in the past month of zero gaming until I turned on that console and got my hands on a controller, lol.

HA! My gamer tag for the longest time was ILikeSoup, didn't catch much flak for it, most of my online gaming buddies were you know, POST-pubescent...

Quick question, as a girl do you ever get hit on while you're trying to save the world from online evil? I'm just curious as to what kind of pathetic attempts some guys might make. If you could quote some, that would be even better!

/not hitting on you
//easily old enough to be your fath- I mean older brother...
Well I imagine maturity would help.

There are many reasons I don't play online games often, or at all really. Avoiding such a happenstance is part of it. The worst I got recently at least was some PM on here. 'gurl ur fine, send me sum pix!' Like, what?

& I'll take your word for it...? @)@
That's it? Really? that's the best that guy could come up with?!? I mean what kind of pathetic nerd- oh yeah. Right. Forgot where I was...

Oh, and anyone that can use the word "happenstance" properly in a sentence is cool with me. I guess I'm just a fan of the english language, and not this phonetic crap I see everywhere. (Your aforementioned PM being a perfect example.)

Gee, thanks for the confidence. Seriously, I could be your DAD. I just don't seem to have a problem communicating with people way younger than me. Go figure, I play video games ;)

Suddenly I feel creepy.

Gotta go...

My parents have a horrible tendency to walk in front of the screen often. Or do it once but stand there for an insane amount of time.

That, and all the pre-pubescent boys playing M rated games on Xbox Live. Or the other guys on Xbox Live who always have their music BLASTING in the background so we always have incessant noise because they refuse to turn it down.

When the game glitches every few minutes in a way that the game completely freezes causing you to have to get up from the couch, walk a whole 2 feet over to the console, run your fingers along the back of the console for a few minutes looking for the manual off switch, then flipping it off and on when you find it, starting it back up and playing from the last save. This mainly is for Fallout 3 for my PS3 on the 1 save file that I actually completed the entire game on.

My xbox 360 is very loud, and I have no idea if it's just my xbox or it's like this with every xbox.

For me, a major annoyance is when my Dad comes downstairs to vacuum the basement so I can't hear a thing on my game so I have to pause for a good 15 minutes and wait for him to finish.

It's the same thing when our 23 year old washing machine has an unbalanced load, it's actually louder than the vacuum cleaner.

Of course, there's the obligatory "when my parents call me every ten minutes for idiotic things."

People that run infront of me when I got to shoot. I was playing UT3 today and some **** ran right infront of me when I had the rocket launcher locked onto someone. Or when they run into you with vehicle while you're carrying the flag and knock you off course and get you killed.

Playing online on Xbox Live, because roughly 65% of the people online are 8-12 years old and are ALL playing the 16+ and 18 games
3. Hackers/Glitchers
4. CAMPERS (not Snipers)
5. Racist, Vulgar, and Idiotic people who talk when they have no kills and 15 deaths

I hate it in CTF games, when people on your team see you have the flag, so they team kill you just to get the flag. Or when you 'steal' someones kill, and they start killing you for it
