I once went to a restaurant (epic am I right) and at the end of the meal we had to take a few things home. One of my friends started packing up the uneaten bread and I asked, "Why are you packing the bread up?" My friend replied jokingly, "For bread emergencies." Ever since then I've wondered what exactly a bread emergency would look like. So I want to know, what do you think a bread emergency looks like?
(PS: What I mean is not a dilemma where you are really hungry and all you can find is bread. What I mean is a dilemma where the issue revolves around bread)

It seems like a quick answer I would give that is supposed to be humorous and distract people from me answering the question.

example:
"Jack, why are you walking with a cane?"
"I stabbed myself in the foot too many times with a sword-cane"

Aliens have landed and demand bread or they will destroy you! You just ate the remains of your last loaf by making toast! You can't leave the house and they will not allow outside communication with the world.

Quick, to the safe! That bread you saved can save your life now!

That's funny because I actually had a bread emergency today!
I was very hungry but there wasn't anything to eat! And the only bread I had was frozen!
That is a bread emergency. (True story)

URGE TO STEAL BREAD RISING...
'Bread Rising'... Dead Rising... a psychopath in a zombie-infested mall has a group of hostages and will only release them if you can find him a loaf of bread. Unfortunately, all the bread in the supermarket has gone out-of-date. Bread emergency.

A bread emergency would be like. If all the bread in the world had vanished and robots who's only weakness was toast were attacking. That would be a very grim day.

Bread is AWESOME. Not having bread is AWFUL.

Hence, it is a bread emergency.
Too true. I'm eating some french bread right now, just because I can.

Oooh, oui oui *insert jibberish*. Try making your own though (bread, not baguette). It's easy as hell and tastes more awesome than 95% of the bakery stuff.

Also bread emergencies suck. I remember making bread once in the middle of the night as it was the only solution. Ah but the longing makes it so much sweeter.....

Bread would last only for a week or two at most, that's why I keep MRE's for emergencies...

But having a bowl of soup without bread would suck...

A bread emergency is what ducks face when there are no people in the park. Your friend should've told the restaurant owner "It's OK, it is for a duck."

My friend made it for me, so it's homemade and I didn't have to do a thing. Free food always tastes better.

Depends on how often you've got to make your own food! If you do it all the time then having someone make it for you is awesome.

When you're a lazy mofo like me however, when you actually go through the trouble of making something, it's all the better for it. Or maybe I'm just secretly an amazing cook. Who can make about 3 things without burning the house down. It's still a possibility!

Well I imagine, as an emergency, it would have to be a pretty imminent one!

The bread would go stale, otherwise...

I almost always cook for myself and other people, so someone making something for me is a pleasant surprise.
