Not a movie and didn't make me outwardly cry, but I cried inwardly. It's easier to clean up.

Well there are two movies that have managed to make me cry and I feel that they represent the two ways that tear-level sadness can get to you in a film.

First up is what I like to call the crying of confusion, this is where sad things are orchestrated too much, too hard and too fast for your brain to comprehend so you just feel like you have to cry in the whirlwind of misery and muddle-mindery. The film that achieved this is Gran Torino

Basically throughout the whole movie sadness is played with and the tension builds up, and in the closing scenes things culminate, Walt gets shot, he was only reaching for his cigarette lighter, a bitter sweet score is playing, his only friend in the world is seen driving out along the coast in his gran Torino with his only other friend that wasn't human (His faithful dog) in the side seat. There's humour in his last will and testament, triumph in Thao earning the Gran Torino after so much hardship, sadness in the beautifully done scene where Walt gets gunned down. I just couldn't handle it all and started bawling right there in the cinema. The film was fantastic and those scenes made it mind-blowingly fantastic in my opinion.

Second up is what I like to call the emotional tie cry, this is where you become so attached to a character or a thing that they could simply scrape their toe and you'd probably start bawling. The film that achieved this is The good, the bad and the ugly.

Throughout the entire film I was loving tuco, he was flawed, lovable, relatable and he acted like a regular human being. There's a scene where Angel eyes beats poor old Tuco and alone it's very sad, what makes it step a little bit over into the "Bawling your eyes out" zone is the use of close-up shots and bitter-sweet music coming from outside the cabin which is actually made more effective due to the shots of the orchestras violinist staring into the cabin window and crying because he can hear the wails of Tuco and he knows that their music is intended to mask it

I went into that film not knowing the plot at all, so imagine my surprise when it turns out to be the most depressing film ever.

I cried after seeing Artificial Intelligence. That is one very sad ending.
And I once cried after seeing an episode of Futurama: Jurassic Bark.
If you've seen it, you know that the ending was very sad, and that combined with the fact that my cat had just been ran over reduced me to tears.

I can't remember the name of it, but the movie that managed to make me cry the most was about a firefighter who was remembering all of his past times right before he died. I don't know why, but the very last scene of his life really does make me tear up.
I need to know its name!
