Best job: Working at gamespot. Since it is my forte with games, it is probably the best.

Worst: McDonald's....disgusting place.

Weirdest: I actually managed to work in a Photography studio filling up chemicals and developing pictures. It was easy work, but there was a lot of it.

If you missed the "best job in the world" tourism campaign; the winner becomes caretaker of the island where they must go snorkeling, horse riding and other tropical island stuff. After a month they get paid $100,000 and go home.

Dish washer in a restaurant was shite. Boring as hell and the work was menial at best. The colleagues weren't too bad, but overall it felt like slavery.

Working in the harbour was better. It was quite heavy work at times, so you need a bit of muscle and stamina. Plus it wasn't without danger, with tons of cargo dangling above you things could go wrong. Colleagues were quite nice in fact, sure there were some tough guys, but if you get to know them and aren't too inept socially, they are pretty good people. The pay was quite good too. I had some days where I made some insane hours (22 was my record I think), and for 10 EUR per hour that is not bad for a student.

Still, I'm glad I'm almost finished with my studies and will do some intelligent stuff soon.
I actually enjoyed being a dishwasher. You got to see the hot servers, cuz they brought the dishes back, and no one bothered you. You washed your stuff, ran it through, and maybe took the trash out. No one watching your every move, and if they do they get sprayed with the hose :)

That being said, being a cook in a restaurant was one of my favorite jobs. The guys you work with are almost always a ton of fun.

Worst job I ever had: Bakery. Had to be there at 0300 just so we could have stuff ready to sell at 7. Going to work at 3 in the morning in the middle of winter, before your car's heater works, is the worst thing ever.

Best job I've had: Current job, working at an auto parts store. We're only moderately busy most of the time, I think the highest number of customers I've seen in there so far is about 7 or 8, you learn a lot more about cars, and the hours are nice (I have 28 next week).

Worst job I've had: Subway Restaurant. The busiest Subway in the area. Lines out the door from 10am to about 3pm. Worst job ever.

careful, I hear some mailmen are getting attacked by wild turkeys.
The scariest thing that ever attacked me was a labrador puppy, so I think I'll manage. Will be on my guard though!

i really enjoyed working at HMV before they started loosing money and became a bunch of pricks. Best job would have been as a barmaid if it werent for all the dirty old men (and that includes my boss) - even still the only real downside was that all the other pubs are shut by the time you get off shift, but as a summer job its ideal.

Well being a lot guy... oops, lot associate in some places means you get to push carts and load cars for low pay and other huge bonuses! Including; mood swings, disrespect, and even a change on your opinion of the entire human race!
I need a vacation...

Working in the game industry is simultaneously the best and worst job I've ever had. Considering some of the things I've seen, it probably classifies as the most bizarre one I've held as well.

Few step guideline to job procurement:
1) learn programming language
2) post fake reviews of your services on some website
3) overestimate the number of hours for job
4) do it
5) get paid

My friend made £500 after working five hours just because he knows how to set up a web page.

Summer is here, and I need a job. The trouble is, I don't particulary like working and jobs are few and far between round here. I need inspiration/guidance...

What is the best/worst/most bizarre job you've ever had?
Bartender, hard work but fun.
A friend of mine is a bartender. He says he never got laid as much as when he became a bartender. He explained many (drunk) people look up to them. Wich especially has an effect on women, making you automatically more atractive.

I do volunteer work as a bartender at an anual festival, so I can second the notion of hard work. Especially when you have to cater to hundreds of people. I was tapping beer nonstop! But it beats washing glasses anyday.

The best jobs I ever had were the following...

1. Homebuilding, I was working for a family friend and this job was fantastic, it was hard work but the days went fast, I got tons of exercise, I was paid pretty well and my boss was a really nice guy.

2. Ushering, I worked as an usher at The Saddledome here in Calgary, it's basically our only arena, I got to see concerts, sporting events... tons of stuff. Again, hard work, but the shifts often went really fast.

if you've got some talent at performing, singing, acting, dancing, whatever, find a show to do! Professional performance is wonderful. The pay/work ratio isn't usually the best thing ever, but it's so much fun that you don't care anyway.
