I was utterly terrified of dead silence when I was a kid and would actually start trembling like I was locked in a room with Micheal Jackson in utter silence.

Oh wait, I still do that. Never mind.

Jumping off of things. It sounds rational at first since jumping off high ledges is a good way to die, but I was afraid to jump off of anything higher than a school chair, and even had trouble then. I was not one of those kids who jumps from the top of the playground ladders, to say the least.

Also, really early on I had a fear of eyes for some reason. I remember this one trailer that zoomed in on a woman's eye and freaked me out, and Pokemon kinda freaked me out with the big anime eyes. Thankfully I outgrew it with a combination of time and getting into anime. It might have had something to do with aspergers, though, and I'm still wary of making eye contact.

I watched Jaws and wouldn't go in the ocean until I was 8 or so. Pools were fine, as long as they didn't belong to a Bond villain.

Elevators...

I've jumped out of a plane but I tell you...when I was a little kid...there was just something very fishy about stairs that moved...I didn't trust it...

My entire first grade class suffered from a fear of the Man in the Boiler Room (yes, all of us. Seriously.), a ghost supposedly living in a boiler room in the school house.

Most, if not all, of us belived that both of the school houses, one of which was an old courthouse, the other of which was a larger villa, were haunted. Actually, to this date, I'm not all convinced the larger of the two wasn't haunted. The cellar levels of both houses were fucking terrifying at night, even the teachers didn't like being there after dark.

---

That, and a crippling fear of spiders...

Oh wait, I still have that one...

I always thought that an alien mothership was under our house, and if I stayed up too long, they would probe me.

Oh, and random noises from outside. They always made me jump and wonder about things...

I was afraid of dying back then... How foolish of me. That was what really scared me before. I don't fear it anymore. I fear the death of those I love these days.

I know a friend who was terrified of crisps... (chips to you American folk) he's a strange child...

edit: oh yeah, and caves. I absolutely hated caves, I thought they would cave in on me. I find them fascinating now, especially when your in a historically significant one, with only lamps to light the way... none of that built-in lighting bullshit.

That somebody would break into my house in the middle of the night even though the only real things of value we had were a computer, a tv, and a dvd player. Oh wait, I'm still retardedly paranoid.
