The english language confuses me some times. This site, for example: The escapist magazine. What IS that?
I tortured my brain withing an inch of it's life (which is pretty scary, if you think about it), and I still haven't figured it out
Here's what I think that it's not:
1) A convict / prisoner breaking out of prison. He/she is by definition an escapee.
So that can't be it.
2) A person who let him/herself be entertained/occupied by something/someone to escape the horrors of the real world. AKA= Escape from reality.
3) A follower of the newly formed Cult "Sons of Escapama". Which closely follows the teachings of one Jonathan "Iznogood" Escapama. Main teachings dictates that Escapama is the long lost great-great-grandson of Darth Vader and therefore can choke you to death with his brain if you in any way deviate from his word of teaching.
Any thoughts on this? Or, if you can, give me a plausible explanation on what "The Escapist" means. Much appriciated!
