I don't own any pets, but my sister has a toy poodle and some long haired cat. There names are Mackie and Harley which are the last names of two footballers she likes in the team she barracks for. Oh how sad, and amusing.

My family's dog was named Sneakers because her body was black, and her paws were white. She got to be about 17 years old before we put her to sleep.

I have a cat named Smokey (technically Smokey II). My first cat had the same name and looked very similar, except he was MUCH bigger. I don't know why he was named that, my parents gave him to me when I was 1 year old and they named him.

We tend to name our pets after famous people. So yeah.

Dogs: Lily (deceased) - named for some famous person
Bridget (deceased) - same thing
Gracie - Gracie Ellen
Poppy - Poppy Montgomery
Ruby - No famous person here, I think. It's just 'cos she's red.

Cats: Maestro (deceased) - Because when he was a kitten he stood on two back legs and waved his arms around like a maestro.
Oscar & Wilde (both deceased) - We got them both on the same day. I think you can guess who we named them after.
Emmy - We have Oscar, so we thought Emmy after the Emmy awards or w/e. I wanted Grammy, but alas, no dice.
Sylvester - After Sly himself, duh.

Bird - A galah named Floydy (recently deceased) - Lessee, Galah's are pink, named Floydy. Named after a band. Take a guess.

I have 2 kittens named Mo and Karim. Mo is short for Mohammed to insult the Islam because of this: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/africa/article2971369.ece

I named the other Karim to match. This way their named after 2 characters from a dutch comedians sketch I liked.

I had a cat named Googaly. My family said that I named her, which is impossible since she was born before me. She lived till 18 and died while sleeping on my chest.

I had a turtle named Mr. Tutlles who probably died of starvation because my drugged up mother left him in a house in bayonne when I was 4.

I had a bird named jingles who died when I was 11 maybe.

I've had multiple nameless fish and a little iguana or lizard thing that was also never named.

Im thinking of getting either a puppy or a kitten.

Rabbit: Phineas, I don't know why. I just really like the name. I usually just end up calling him Bunny though because I clever like that.
Fish: Sharkbait Oh-ha-ha, because of Finding Nemo. All of my friends got fish around the same time and we decided to name them after Finding Nemo characters.
