Mine is... bees and needles. Yeah. A wasp crawled up my pants this one time. All the way up. And to the side. And... it wasn't a good day. As for needles, I just hate them. I mean, they're sharp and pointy and... OH YEAH! A story! Once, I had to be jabbed with 150 micro needles at once. Not an exaggeration. Fun.

I'm with ya there on the bees. They scare the hell out of me for no good reason. I'm convinced it's a fear of the unknown thing as I've never been stung.

That and...well, heights. I'm scared to death of heights. Heck, I get woozy just looking up at tall objects.

Are you suggesting my fear is irrational? Stung thrice, and my very first sting was on my fricking CROTCH. And I'm male. So my fear is rational, because bees hate me.

Could be tricky for me to answer this... I know I used to have quite a lot of fears (You know the sort of thing, spiders, heights, the dark... the common ones) but I sort of grew out of them either through facing them or realising that I was just afraid because my sister(s) were...

But I guess if pushed to say my worst fear at the moment is rejection. Since it is what I have nightmares about and is the only thing I can think of that can fill me with cold dread...

Also on a side note I love needles, it's nice and refreshing to feel the nice cool liquid go into me. Taking stuff out isn't as fun though... (My veins collapse and they dig around a bit when trying to get my blood, which fails so they try the next vein...)

Huh, I work at an apiculture lab, where one of the postdocs has to routinely give herself a full sting for immunity purposes... personally never been stung, though most of the hives seem to cooperate with me.

OT: Large spiders... once I see one, I'll run to find myself the biggest edged weapon (if a flamethrower isn't available) I can get my hands on.

That and losing what little of my sanity remains...

EDIT:

No joke. I'm terrified of them. Won't ride one...Haven't for years.
That's a weird one... and should that be the case: don't come to London...

Getting pepper sprayed and get marked as a sex offender for just saying hello. No one going to believe a "rapist" when a "victim" is crying falsely no matter how loud or obnoxious.

Not much actually scares me. Only thing I do fear is one of the Tea Baggers (US political party variety, not what you do to noobs you pwn) becoming US president, or any of the frontmen on the Republican side. Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney (that boy will rape this country for his corporate buddies who have given him well over $11 mil in campaign donations), etc. If one of them become president, I am going to be the opposite of a Mexican stereotype and jump the border into Mexico (Canada is too cold, and with my $100 US dollars I could buy a large plot of land and 6 hookers while still being the richest man in the village :p).

Pretty much most things completely out of my control that affect me personally.

This ranges from my appearance to being trapped and everything in between. If something is out of my control but affects me on a personal level or a physical level I hate it. Even the illusion of control helps me: I prefer water-rides to roller-coasters because in water-rides I feel I can jump out. I'd prefer bungie-jumping and cliff-diving to a scary roller-coaster because I feel like I'm still in control because I can move about and control myself a little.

Wasps and bees have landed in my hair and I just pluck them out and throw them away before they can realize and sting.

As for needles, I was having an MRI of my shoulder, and had to have a tracer dye put in. This basically involved a huge needle being stabbed deep into my shoulder joint and being left in for several minutes. It hurt it it got nudged slightly. On the upside, i got to watch it in an xray. I also had a cool Indian doctor in his mid-40s with a cool mustache.

Edit: OT: Growing old...

I never said that. Relax and don't think someone is ALWAYS implying something. I was just offering a suggestion to my reason for the fear of them.

I have a car and a bad sense of direction. Southward should be an easy route to maintain, not aiming for one place in particular. If I hit an ocean, a westward I shall go until more land is South of me.
