I came here to write an essay on it thanks to my Computing A level knowledge. But it wasn't meant to be.

In Battlestar Galactica the CAP is the Combat Air Patrol and the leader of this is called the CAD but I have no idea what that stands for...

I was watching Zero Punctuation's Webcomic episode, and I went into the comments. A lot of people were commenting on something called CAD. Can anyone clarify exactly what this is and why they were mad about it?

It's a webcomic with a large hatedom, due to its blatant copy-paste art, stealing from outside sources, the actions of its creator, Tim Buckley, and trying to add drama to a "wacky" videogame webcomic through several poorly conceived plot points (the infamous miscarriage being the most infamous), among several other reasons.

It's generally not viewed very positively, and is often mocked online, though your mileage may vary.

It used to be great comic but things turned really serious and the comic just lost its appeal to a lot of readers. Well it certainly lost its appeal to me anyway.

Ctrl-Alt-Del had a few decent strips early on, but then it got dreary and lost its sense of humour. As much as I enjoy webcomics, I don't follow this one anymore.

And, from what I've heard, just a terrible human being on top of that. Supposedly he showed his man parts to an underage girl. He shut down his entire forums because he couldn't control people the way he wanted. And he used to edit Wikipedia entries for other comics (like PVP) into things like "PVP is gay".

Other than Buckley deserves any Yahtzee-bile sent his way, I liked the video but didn't understand what caused Yahtzee to go off about webcomics without directly attacking Buckley.

Nope sorry, it's CAG, Commander of the Air Group... Which is stupid because Battlestars operate primarily in space... Which had a distinct lack of air about the place. Guess it just carried over from the days of Naval warfare though, which is why all Military protocol in most sci fi are based on Nautical procedures and terms.

Always thought that was laziness on behalf of sci-fi writers...
