Just curious. We have a big cul-da-sac party here, lined up grills and a giant waterslide and such I usually have friends over & we play uno for hours and sit inside after hours watching horror movies. We than proceed to light fireworks and try not to set ourselves on fire. Forgot to add gaming in there. Usually it's Dance Central or Resident Evil 5 co-op..'cause that's always fun.

What does everyone else do?

Wait two more days for my chance to see the Stanley Cup live.

Had our own independence day thing three days ago. As every year, I spent the day away from the local media lest I start having thoughts involving our politicians and sharp pointy objects.

Usually I got to my Aunts for a party, or I go to Montreal for Canada Day/The Jazz Festival. It being on a Wednesday kind of throws a wrench in that plan this year however.

Probably sleep, eat, and play on the PC for a few hours. Business as usual.

On another note, I was under the impression that Americans put their dates like Month/Day/Year. Surely you'd call it July 4th?

Just going to eat with the family. It'll be really hot here in Missouri on the 4th, so rather than our usual outdoor grilling we'll probably just bake some chicken in the oven and have everybody bring a side dish and dessert. And we'll eat, and sit around and talk for a while. And if it's not too hot and enough are wanting to do it, we'll probably go in my grandparent's backyard and play croquet.

I would be inclined to advise avoiding montreal at this time.

Not an american, so I'll be working on july 4th.
But being canadian, I get the 1st off work, probably go kayaking or swimming on that day.

Why? Some peaceful student protests?

Scary stuff.
Yeah, peaceful.
Totally peaceful to throw smoke bombs in the metro.
Totally peaceful to yell in the ears and shove people walking down the street (myself included) who weren't wearing their sacred red square.
Totally peaceful to trash cars, shops and buildings.
Anyone claiming the protests have been peaceful is either grossly mislead or delusional.

But I digress, back to the OP.

Have fun on wednesday American Escapists :)
