I was just wondering what everyone's opinion on mobile developer Gameloft is? They've done licensed games for iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire such as Spider-Man and Assassin's Creed, to semi-original games that can easily be compared to bigger name brands. Still, I think they do some of the highest quality stuff you can find on the Android, when you need a serious game on your phone or tablet. A few of their games are also up on PS3 and the like, with titles like Zenonia and Heroes of Sparta.

Well from what I heard their dev offices are joyless fast track game mills, and that is how their games feel.
It's like a meal prepared out of instant powders, edible yes but I wouldn't have any unless I'm starving and out of all other options.

Wow. I don't think I could have said it better.
They aren't bad as a dev of knockoff games (or 'inspired by' games), but like knockoff cologne, it smells about the same at first, and then it just smells.

As a Kindle: Fire user since last Christmas, I can say that right now Gameloft is one of the higher quality developers producing games for The Kindle Fire, that probably says as much about the relative selection as it does about Gameloft, but if I had to recommend based on company rather than specific games they would be close to the top of my list at the moment.

Their stuff is second rate knockoffs and ports of full sized games, but it's all playable on the kindle fire as opposed to a real system, which is pretty meaningful in of itself. As I said, they really don't have any competition.

Of course it remains to be see if the Kindle: Fire will ever get Traveller or Baldur's Gate which are really the only games of this sort I'm looking forward to.

I do find them to be somewhat creatively bankrupt. It amazes me that Activision hasn't sued them over the Modern Combat series, which is basically Modern Warfare with worse controls and voice acting. Still, they clearly know their ways around a GPU, and there appears to be a demand for their games given how many they've pumped out, so I guess they could be much worse..

Their main business model I think, is to bring cheap imitations of larger game series to the mobile platform. Creatively, yeah, they're pretty bankrupt, but they bring some serious gaming to platforms flooded by Angry Birds and Cut the Rope. Not saying those are bad games, but sometimes I'm on the go, and feel like playing Final Fantasy, or something similar and flashy, on my Kindle Fire or phone.

They are simply the Asylum Studios of videogames, except their Rip offs are good quality

The only game of their's that I enjoyed enough to finish it through was Eternal Legacy. Sure, the writing was terrible, but I love a good turn based RPG and I would probably buy a sequel if they ever released one.

I hate these guys. My phone came with 2 trial versions of their games, which were crap, and I cannot delete the damn things, so they're just one level of uselessness taking up the limited space on my cheapo phone.

Most of the mobile games I've played in the past I thought were crap. The fact that pretty much all their games are cheap mobile imitations of other better games doesn't help to change my opinion.

If you want something decent, look up Shadowgun from Madfinger. It was designed to work with Nvidia's Tegra chips and has some pretty impressive visuals and physics for a mobile game.

Unoriginal, but still pretty solid on core mechanics.

So, they are okay with me.

I own three or four of their iPhone games, when they had a big sale.

Yeah, I just got Gangstar: Miami, Spider-Man: Total Mayhem! and one other game of theirs on sale for $2, instead of the usual 6. Spider-Man's actually a way better beat em up than I expected.
