Why are all these references to my little pony cropping up. As far as i know it is just some childrens show. What am i missing here that is making my little pony so prolific on the forums

Oh god. now youve done it. The leviathan stirs. Also i think its because the generations starved of good cartoons so this slightly less shit program with a reputably good creator is heading it appears to fill hearts with pastel ejaculate joy. Its like giving a starving man jacobs crackers with no brie.

Because, in many people's opinions, it's a really good show.
Personally, I think it's alright. It's not great, but at the same time, it's a lot better than any of the cartoons this generation is growing up with today.

I had the same response when I first heard about it, so I watched the first episode just to see what the big freaking deal was... and got hooked. The dialogue is smart, the animation is great, the characters are well defined, the jokes are actually funny, there's constant world-building, the show is very self-aware, and it even gets kind of epic at times. When stacked up against other cartoons, it's only pretty good, but compared to other cartoons aimed at girls, it's phenomenal. The fact that a girls cartoon is high-quality, and can be enjoyed by adults instead of making them want to shoot themselves, is a small miracle, and something to be encouraged.
If you want to know what you're missing then just watch it, go on we won't tell anyone, we don't careItsthatguy said:
It's a show that people like. This latest version of MLP is entitled "Friendship is Magic" and is actually good. All the episodes are on Youtube.
