I'm from East London and I sometimes make a little laugh at other accents, like Newcastle or Yorkshire

It sounds a lot better than american accents.
let's face it. Americans and many Canadians sound horrible. It is very harsh and annoying.
many other accents are more soothing and nicer to listen to.
Personally I like American accents, New Yorkers have an awesome accent. I can never tell the difference between US and Canadian voices for some reason

Just a 'normal' one?
From the South East, so not Liverpool or Scouse, or Brummy.

I suppose its 'normal' for me, I don't know what a typical British accent would be like?

Just kidding, but people do tell me that my voice is ridiculisly posh.

I knew you werent British! You lying buttmunch! Go back to the gun control thread and admit to everyone that you arent British, just a lying turd.
Hahahahaha, no. Speaking as an Australian, we don't idolize the stereotype accent. I can say that the broad Australian accent is quite possibly worse then southern drawl and on par with cockney. He could still be British.
I am not saying he is Australian... just not British. And this isnt the only proof (his complete lack of any response even though I quite clearly called him out on it is an added bonus and lack of action is as good as an admission of guilt.).
Hahaha quite probably. We'll get those darn pretend Brits.
I normally wouldnt give a monkeys but he is pretending to be British in a thread he created about British gun laws... despite not knowing of what he speaks.

I put it down to our major cultural export for the past couple of decades being Hugh Grant being all charming and befuddled.

Personally I quite like the Irish accents.

Which New York accent? Lawnguylanders sound ridiculous. I live in the suburbs and I don't particularly like the typical "NY accents" too much, I'll take a Manhattanite accent over Staten Islander, any day. The media "NY accent" tends to be very Brooklyn or Staten Island/Jersey City Italian.

I can sniff out a Canadian pretty easy, they relax their vowel sounds a bit more than most Americans. Sometimes it's easy to mistake some Americans from near the border as Canadian but oh well.

It's the soft delicate tones of the accent.

I live in the pacific northwest, US. Turns out my accent is _sought after_. Apparently, according to most linguists, the accents in pacific Oregon and Washington are about the "cleanest" American English you can find. We get advantages in applying for news positions, and are generally easier for foreigners to understand (my wife recently went to an international ministries conference in Texas, she was told many times that her accent was so easy to understand). Just don't head into rural eastern Oregon...might as well be Texas...without teeth.

Take that east coast!

(Or-eh-gun...that's how it's pronounced....Or-eh-gun. I don't want to here any more of this Origohn silliness.)

"British accent"

Uh. One of my pet hates. England alone has many drastically different accents, not to mention the differences between Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland!

My Algerian accent gets a lot of complements. Well, at least, it did before I moved to Manchester for a bit and I started sounding a bit like Karl Pilkington.

Well I am an American girl and I'm dating a British boy (Aka Azure-Supernova) and I happen to love his accent. It's just the way he says things, the way the words roll off his tongue and the way he says my name just gets me going. :3 His accent is by far my favourite accent I've ever heard. <3

Yes... He/She wasn't exactly flexible in thought when it came to politics and guns in that thread either. But who knows. Maybe JewZombie is from the Republic of Ireland! (would explain the gun thing)

As for OP
Personally i find that the 'cultivated' Australian accent is the best British accent. Think about that.

American girls find accents in general sexy. I think it has something to do with the knight on a white horse thing. Where do knights come from? Not America.

American's apparently go ape shi-I mean bananas over English, Aussie or Kiwi accents. They weridly love them I understand. I guess they're exotic enough to be sexy without being so exotic they wonder if you're going to kill everyone. Also it might just be because everything Australian rocks ;D
