Seriously though, there is very little to say about WHAT love is. I would describe romantic love as a situation in which you feel a great attraction to another. It tends to be associated with symptoms of putting the feelings and/or needs of the target of the "love" ahead of your own. Aside from that, it is often a "deep" emotional connection as well.
As for platonic love, that is a more simple deep connection to someone. It is nearly identical except for the "romantic" feelings associated with romantic love.
More than that is really just clouding the issue.
